Ben Whishaw would be the best choice there.. he is brilliant, doubt he has time though as he, like B. Cumberbatch, is probably far too busy to commit the time.
Ben Daniels is very easy on the eye so a good choice there.
Peter Calpaldi, as brilliant as he is, is just too old for that role

Nonsense. The Doctor can be any age, William Hartnell proved that long ago. And in some ways I'd appreciate a slowing down of the programme's tempo. Sometimes things are happening so fast and they're gabbling so quickly I can't keep track of what's going on. Part of the problem is trying to squeeze everything into one episode rather than over 2, 3 or 4 as it used to be. There's no chance to develop a story properly. I'd be fine with an older Doctor who doesn't have to be running around all the time.
Forget Cumberbatch, leave him with the dreadful Sherlock Holmes series.
In fact I just read that Peter Capaldi is the same age that William Hartnell was when he became Doctor Who.
I suppose if the BBC is trying to attract a young audience then they will want a younger man.
Bring back David Tennant is what I say!
Well he's sacked from being a mod then - I have enough problems with this forum being based on a linear time progression. I really don't want things altered before or after or in between. Things from 2008 would start appearing as posts from 2013. Hell we may even get a few things posted today that appear back in the last century.
No Time Lords as moderators.

Is 42 young enough? William Hartnell looked 70, Capaldi looks err 55.
Good choice, I think he'll do well. It'll be interesting to see what he brings to the role. Handsome too.
Of course, the next big question is what happens when he decides to leave. Presumably there can only be 12 regens and that's it, but are the Beeb really going to spike a successful reincarnated program just because of that? And anyway, there have already been 12 doctors - if you can count Peter McGann, you have to count Peter Cushing.
