Hi everybody,

We are looking for a good webhost here in Switzerland. I have looked at both Cyon and Unaxus but wanted to hear some other recommendations.

It seems Unaxus (http://www.unaxus.li/unlimited-hosting/)has a real nice deal but seems like Cyon (http://www.cyon.ch/webhosting/vergleichstabelle) is more popular (but don't know if that results in a better service ). Anybody that can help me out with some advice or other recommendations? Price would have to be under 9CHF/month

Why in Switzerland? If you need it for a .ch domain, I can see some foreign registrars allow it, too.

I used those before and they were OK.

Now, I prefer the below two but they apparently don't deal with Confoederatio Helvetica names.

The OP is looking for Hosting. Not ISP and not domain purchasing.

FYI, you can have your DNS files for .li or .ch pointing from anywhere, including GoDaddy.

Why do you want a Swiss host?

I just moved to namecheap.com from another North American provider. Since I mostly work on the site in the evenings, Im happy it's their day-time there if I need support.

Used them for 15 years without any problems on 20+ domains.
Despite the low price they ad value to your business.

I am using wix.com and Cpa hosting(http://cpa10.com/). PM me if the second one interest your needs as I have few 1 year hosting plan coupons.

This is exactly what I've given - information on web hosting providers. I also know some pure domain registrars in case somebody's interested. internet.bs is the best, in my opinion.

Regarding the DNS manipulations, it's certainly doable. I have one .ie hosted on GoDaddy even though they don't directly deal with Irish names. But I think an average person would prefer having both the domain and hosting from one shop.

In the past 20 years I've used multiple US hosting companies and european companies they have each had some issues or another. Mostly with downtime, charges and backup issues.
At the moment I use cyon and I use it for multiple domains.
I have been with them for a while(5 years) I like them so this is a plus. I have communicated with them in English with out any problems.

Im living in switzerland for 5 years now and am a virtual entrepreneur, means I own multiple online businesses which actually work very well for me. Thus, you can understand, I need a good partner for the webhosting. My experience with webhosting companies was from bad to terrible until a year ago. It used to happen that i had problems with the page loading speed (slowdown on host server) and couldnt get payments because of ping timeouts, loosing orders. Where you would expect to be able to call someone 24/7 to fix this asap I had to write tickets and wait for 3 days to have it fixed. Last year I got this finaly sorted out when I moved to this webhosting. When I have problems which are host based, and thoose are unavoidable, they are mostly sorted out in a coupple hours so my income doesnt have to suffer, also the availability per phone plus the Service Vs. Expense ratio are, at least for me, verry well balanced. If you need any more info, you can also contact me in privat I would be happy to help

why would it be? The thread starter asked a question, and i tried to answer. Since i was looking for webhosting comparison (cant be lazy to compare) I stumbled upon this forum.

But I thought you were happy with your hosting? Because why else would you be looking for a comparison now that you are satisfied?

I am really happy with my current provider, but as a mater of fact due to the nature of my bussines I have to make a comparison at least once in a year, if you dont like the provider or if Im not alowed to post my recomendation for some reason, please feel free to remove my prior post or have it removed. I thought the information might come handy for other people who stumble upon this forum topic and posted my first hand experience.

I use www.1and1.co.uk and happy with them since 1999.

servertown looks crap. i wouldn't go with them.

Just wondering if anyone can tell me who may be offering the best deal at the moment? https://www.hostingtipp.ch/ shows that hostech is the top deal. Anybody got any experience with or can recommend (or not rec) them or something else? Thanks!

I use metanet, which is the most "expensive" at 6.70 a month and I must say everything works flawlessly and I don't need to worry about any sorts of limits.
