Re: Your online identity in Switzerland (when buying a house)

Hey Jules,

These are the two cantons I tried:

http://www.geneve.ch/registre_foncier/view.asp
http://www.registre-foncier.vd.ch/rf-morges/publiSuchenCtrl?oeffneViewEvent=1)#=fr

Looking at it briefly, the link you sent on Zurich makes more sense

So we bought a house a while ago, and this is registered at the 'registre de foncier' of the canton. All good and well. They even have a webpage where you can query the register. This is where it gets interesting (for the somewhat technically skilled among us ). For some reason you can only query for 2 months at a time (in the 2 cantons I looked).

John.
so John, where do I find this information?

I am keen to find out what a particular house (on which we made an offer, but were rejected) sold for ... we were told that it wasn't about the money but that the other party had committed first, but I suspect it was very much about the money (or else, about my very brown skin...)

Re: Your online identity in Switzerland (when buying a house)

I guess some Swiss from Vaud are reading this forum too (or somebody forwarded this to them ) . In April it got password protected access to this information. Presumably only for people who work for Canton Vaud as it is not possible to get a password myself as far as I can see.

Well done Vaud!

John.
