Re: Favourite TV commercials

I love ads! I'll have to look up some of the oldies I like but this is a new one that was doing the rounds on FB.

Here's an older one.

DON'T watch this one if you are easily scared!

I love a good airline commercial, they're so shamelessly jingoistic

Re: Favourite TV commercials

I love that UK TV commercial about a deodorant which sets off a chain of accidents and in each accident a couple meet up and fall in love / lust.

Re: Favourite TV commercials

I think most adverts today are beyond rubbish. The southern comfort one is sort of ok, but the CGI flag just niggles me.

The VW one is silly, getting stupid Swedish Peter Stormare to badly impersonate a stereotypical german. Oh dear.

Next time you watch prime time ITV, make the following two observations:

1) How many adverts use rediculous CGI animated cartoon type figures doing stupid things.

2) How many of the remaining non animated adverts are also plain rediculous.

It is actually surprisingly easy to watch all these adverts and not observe the two conditions I have just set out. Switch on mind. I always marvel at what these marketing guys are getting paid for these wonders of advertising.

Re: Favourite TV commercials

The best commercial I have seen was one for eyewear when a dude is brushing his teeth with rhoids ointment. But I don't think that was in English, Spanish if I remember well. I can't find it.

There are programs of best humorous commercials we used to watch, it's health hazard to watch.

Switch on mind? I love good commercials. I don't watch them thinking I'm getting any sort of intellectual advancement from them. Most of them are nothing to write home about. So it's nice to see the really clever, creative ones.

Personally, i LOVED the VW one. That's probably because I also have a secret love of those stupid pimped out cars.

Anyone have any idea what that dog-cross-peacock thing that does stuff like eat lollies or fan itself on the ads along the the Lausanne metro line is actually for?
