I think some are missing the point of the lyca "feel like home" thing. It's not roaming, you are allocated a local number and you are using local data.
Switch off data roaming on your phone before you go then you simply won't be charged any data roaming fees but 3G data should work, coming from the local provider.

The ONLY place where I have been allocated a number was in the UK,
in France, Germany, Belgium, other countries I have visited, i just get the message feels like home activated and NO NUMBER.. in uk get that and a number..
SO the system is broken and does not work as its supposed to..
ok I turned off Roaming Data, and voila.. NO DATA.. perfect..

I have the 'EU19' bundle, which has now changed its name to ' Hello Swiss 19 S'. Last week i was in Greece and got no info from Lyca on arrival. Their customer service phone number advised that Greece is no longer in the bundle, hence the name change.
I keep data roaming off, but still 3G in the U.K. For what appears to be CHF1 a day taken from my top up bonuses, which can't be used for bundles.
You get what you pay for and Lyca is still great value...

For me it just works.. I spend maybe every third weekend in FR and do nothing other than just use it as if i'm in CH.
Let's see if anything changed when i go away again in a couple of weeks.
As AbFab says, you get what you pay for in terms of service, but for me, I pay in a year what I would pay each month for similar usage on swisscom.

EDIT - Sorry wrong answer! You can see this online, when logged into 'My Lycamobile'. Or reset you date usage on your phone with each account recharge.
With136# > hit 'Reply' > input the number of the account you want details of > hit 'Reply' in the top right hand corner...

Any smartphone with Android OS will let you know how much data you've consumed so far within a period (normally a month).

Just look at call history. It tells you the starting data capacity at time of usage and the remaining. You'll work it out...

Sent a massive rant to lycamobile complaints dept.. the response is basically:
All bundles sold now in lymobile.ch website are for consumption within
Switzerland ONLY. Roaming abroad is available BUT will not use ANY BUNDLE
you might currently have or subscribe to.. Roaming will be charged at
standard rates for DATA.... (read stupid expensive)
So lyca is a swiss only product from june 15th onwards... for bundles anyway.

I was able to add a 1GB roam data add on using *139*7101# just a couple of days ago. I don't know if it works yet but its on my account page and also shows if i dial *136# and then reply 2.

Does seem to work, i manually selected either German or French (I'm near the border of both) network and ran a speed test and then checked my data usage and it looks like it came off the roam add on allowance.

This weekend internet was not working at all with 4G. So I switched to 3G only network and it started working again. Funny Lyca
If speeds are capped to 18Mbps or so then I guess 3G is sufficient enough.

So second day in south of France and I can confirm good old lyca is working just fine!
Data roaming switched off using the local 3G data and my balance is same as yesterday give or take a cents..
Again I have no specific bundle other than 5gb of Swiss data.

I'm sure this has been said already, but we just compared cell providers and Lyca was the cheapest while offering a package we wanted.
19CHF/m for 500 minutes within Switzerland, 500 SMS, unlimited data (3GB at 3G, unlimited at 120kbp/s).
For comparison, Lebara had a similar package that was 29 CHF/m with unlimited local calling, local SMS, and unlimited data (1.5 GB at 4G, unlimited at 296kbp/s).
It seems like Lyca's "high speed" internet uses a 3G network, while other more expensive providers have 4G or LTE. So that's why it's cheap?

Ok folks .. update.. Lyca roaming..
I'm a week in France now and it has cost quite a bit. My data roaming is turned off still but it's cost me approx 40chf to use the 'feel like home' service.. I've used quite a lot, from streaming to photos on social media to Skype .. But it sure ain't as free as I thought before.
And with data roaming switched off, one could easily feel safe that it's costing nothing, when it's clearly not the case.
So maybe it is time to re-evaluate Lyca for use outside of CH.

| | Re: lyca mobile?
Seems like Lycamobile across the board (U.K., Ireland, Italy, etc. ) has interpreted the new EU law differently by preventing subscribers from using their bundles for EU roaming. The below link is reflected in all national websites I looked at. I suggest the .ch variant is similarly affected.
I’m going to hazard a guess that Lyca will face challenges from national regulators. http://www.lycamobile.co.uk/en/eu-roaming-is-changing
What to do...?
