Re: lyca mobile?

*139*7 are add-ons to the bundles and only necessary when you are abroad.
That is properly the reason why their are listed only in the pdf

I've just realised that you were the one asking the question in the beginning. So you agree then that the info in the PDF is what you need and is only in the PDF. Good

Re: lyca mobile?

Thanks guys. The prices are tempting, but after what I've read here I will definitely not port my number to lyca!

No, because you *are* roaming all the time with lyca, as they are utilizing Swisscom network.

Strange. I get the message: "Sie haben keine freimenge mehr verfügbar. Bitte buchen Sie wieder ein Lycamobile Packet".

It says that I don't have any packet.... and if I go to the website it says that I have the surf packet active but the counter DATEN shows 0.

Then I have checked the call list and there I can see every time I get connected to internet and there's a count down. I think this is the only way to know it.

I have the same problem.......... And it shows always the R.
No way to know in the phone how much data I have left.
The code *136# doesn't work for me either.

Re: lyca mobile?

For anyone WORRIED about using lycamobile.

I highly recommend lyca. When we first came to Switzerland, we knew that we would need data (for using the internet and communicating with whatsapp or whatever) but not much telephone (who needs a real phone these days?). We started with one Lebara and one Orange SIM, both prepaid with 1GB for 15CHF/month. They both worked fine, but we had tons of problems with ORANGE (now Salt). Not with Lebara. At one point our whole 1GB was used up in a day. Calling them up was hideous - first wait 30 minutes for someone to answer, then get sent around from one to the next, finally they may give you some help if you yell loud enough.

I then ran into lyca. Seeing I wasn't using more than a few hundred MB of data (at work and at home I'm on wifi - mobile data is mainly for the weekends), I saw that lyca sells 500MB for ---- 3.25 CHF/month. That is way less than the 15 I was paying, and they work on Swisscom, which is supposedly the best network in Switzerland. Needless to say, I transferred. First the Lebara phone and then only a few months later, after finishing the Orange credit, I transferred that one, as well. The actual number transfer was a bit painful (partially thanks to Orange, who doesn't like it when you leave), but since then it's been fine. In fact, my credit kept "not" running out and I finally found out that I got something like 20CHF free for transferring, so for 5 or 6 months, I was using my cellphone FOR FREE.

Bottom line is that Lyca works fine and really is dirt cheap. I will also tell you that their customer service answers very quickly (unlike expensive Orange).

Go for it and leave the big bad guys!

Re: lyca mobile?

Hi everyone,

My wife use lyca and sometimes when i call to her and at first time the phone is off, i call again in seconds and it's everything ok.

Another situation is with incoming calls form abroad, in this case from Portugal, the people can't call, because the phone seems without coverage.

For the second situation and if you are using the mobile outside Switzerland, you need to make sure that 1) you have enough money on the account and 2) you need to make sure that you have enabled call roaming. there are 2 places for this 1) on the online account (if you don't have one call customer service to confirm your roaming is enabled) and 2) on the phone its self, go to the lycamobile services (sim card icon), select "lycamobile", then click "select mode", and make sure it is set to "automatic" ie there is a * after the word "automatic"

Note: if you use data on the phone, the automatic option will also enable data roaming by default so you need to make sure it is switched off from the phone its self when you are abroad otherwise you will be using your money very quickly

I hope this helps.

The Roaming symbol is now gone!
I test this on 2 phones.
On one of the phone, the network is now "Swisscom 4G" instead of "Lycomobile R"..

Re: lyca mobile?

Anyone got any idea of a place to register the lyca sim in lausanne?
I've tried 3 different shops from their partner list. 1 said his shop didn't do that. 2 didn't have a clue what I even wanted.
