"This is the wrong Sky viewing card for this box" message

Hi, Im in Basel and the box recently did an update, now a week later i have this message "This is the wrong Sky viewing card for this box message " 07.
Does anyone know of a way to clear this without phone line or modem connection as im assuming thats what its looking for?
I only get the free channels now, ive tried leaving it on for a couple of days and unplugging for a while then rebooting but its still the same which used to clear such problems but now not.
Any advice? cheers

Just call Sky support, assuming that it's a valid card with a paid-up subscription. Obviously you're phoning "from within the UK", and although I've never had them query about the number I'm calling from it's probably not a bad idea to withhold caller details.

Anyway, I've had similar problems in the past when changing boxes, and they're usually resolved within minutes. Although I've often had to vigorously oppose their suggestions of sending an engineer, or upgrading my subscription to an HD one (not needed even on a Sky+HD box) and explain that I choose not to have a home phone line for personal reasons and no, I don't want to access any of their on-demand or interactive services, TYVM. They often have a script to follow, so just get through that and tell them to simply re-activate your card, which they can nornally do remotely.

Failing that, they may need to send a new one, so be prepared to ask your UK adressee to send it on to you.

Ok thanks, I was thinking someone might know any easier way than calling them.
I dont see why they would deactivate it or the card going wrong though.

Problem solved:- I logged onto my Sky Account and entered all the details on the "activate my channels page"
30 seconds later all back on
In case anyone has the same problem in the future
