How do I open the swisscom optic fiber sockets?

I have just acquired a swisscom cable internet and tv package. Since my apartment had already a connection they simply activated it and sent me the router. Problem is that the socket has a metal lid that I seem to be too dum to realize how to open. Any ideas?
Thanks

It should just be a normal telephone socket, shouldn't it?

Can you post a picture?

Re: How do I open the swisscom optic fiber sockets?

May you post a picture to understand if it is shut / deactivated or it is just not easy to connect ?

I am confused because sometimes you need to call them to come to activate the service and connect your device, and some other times you just call to activate the service over the phone without need to have a technician coming to visit your place.

Re: How do I open the swisscom optic fiber sockets?

Good,

Do you see this 1,2 I suppose it should be a rubber safety for the socket, if you remove it possibly there is the fiber entrance.

Sorry to ask you to spend more effort picturing the side of the fiber,to know if it is opened and not covered with rubber as well,

If you see clearly that the fiber is ready to get in, then you can just remove the rubber on port 1 of the device and put the fiber there, you will hear a click when connecting it.

It's either a flap you open, or a plug you need to pull out. (said the actress to the bishop)

If it is metal not rubber, then possibly it is shut

If you live in the apartment since sometime, check if you pay in the nebenkosten something between 22 to 27 franks per month, which is the connection fee, if you don't then it is possibly closed by the operator, and you need to call them to come to open it for you.

I suggest that you call them tomorrow morning, I think if you connected your stuff now, it may not work as you need to call to activate the service, which is a bit late now to call.

Sorry couldn't help much.

Do you mean you pulled the cover off?

Do you mean you pulled out the rubber plug 1 ?

Plugs 1&2 are the same thing. I pressed the all thing in and pulled it down. When that happens i easily opened the metal lid.

Re: How do I open the swisscom optic fiber sockets?

You should have received a letter saying which of the two ports to use.

Personally (well girlfriends place which I setup) was told explicitly (and multiple times) to use port 2. No idea if the world ends if I use port 1 but I didn't want to risk it
