I did see the Neptune Pine, but it just looks like a mini smartphone on a strap (i.e. bulky, crap battery and clunky interface).

Smartwatch is another trojan horse to get more data on your life and health. I'm old fashioned and will stick to old plain swiss automatic watches.

Re: The Smartwatch thread

another gadget being hyped up...A regular smart phone does all the tricks, so what is the use of another "just" smaller smart devide? besides being another new toy

Re: The Smartwatch thread

I've been looking into both Pebble and Galaxy Gear.
Honestly they still don't seem to be "ready".

I'll wait a generation or two (or Apple kills the market with something fantastic)!

The Moto 360 looks like a winner, battery life could be its only Achilles heel though

Sad to see how it transforms a watch from a timeless mechanic masterpiece to a gadget with a 1-2 year lifespan.

I wear a smartwatch during the day and a timeless automatic when I go out for an evening. Each has its place.

Re: The Smartwatch thread

No THIS is a smartwatch... http://www.phonesreview.co.uk/2014/0...60-smartwatch/

The Moto 360 will feature a premium build centered around a circular watch face, this is very unlike most smartwatches on the market today from the likes of Samsung’s Gear and Pebble, but like most other Android Wear smartwatches we expect to see over the next few months, Google Now will be the biggest feature and can be activated by saying “OK Google.” Once activated, the features are just like the ones found on your smartphone or tablet. Sports scores, transportation times, reminders, and even sending a text message can be handled through the device via voice input.

The Moto 360 will be available this Summer in a variety of designs. You can sign up for alerts from Motorola here, Motorola will also holding a Google Hangout tomorrow at 6pm GMT 19th of March, with the Moto 360′s lead designer, Jim Wicks.

We expect to get more information on both Moto 360 and Android Wear as we get closer to the Google I/O in June later this year, I for one cannot wait until I can get my palms on these new devices, Pebble must be sat thinking to themselves… Oh Sh…
Makes all the other smart watches Ive seen look like absolute crap!

Re: The Smartwatch thread

I'll be having one or both of those to replace my Pebble.

Now the question is - will the Moto 360 have Google Now or is Google keeping that for the Android watch?

Oh and another vote for battery life, I'm getting 5 days from my Pebble....

Re: The Smartwatch thread

the design or the platform? Both Android Wear which is fundamentally Google Now tuned up.

I predict a recharge per day.

Both I guess. Knowing motorola, I expect that it will rather take time away from your day in having to manage the watch, as it will probably have a poor GUI, rather than enhancing your day.

I'm just not a fan.

If it has Qi charging I could forgive a 48 hour battery life, otherwise I'll stick with my Pebble Steel which is still a handsome watch with 7 day battery life

If you watch the Google video, you can see it's going to be great.

I OK Google my phone all the time....

It's the beginning of the fall of the keyboard. Chrome is just about to arrive with Now integrated....this is great.
