Orange new T&C- no more automatic 12 month renewal

It seams that the wind of change is finally coming/came to Switzerland. Orange (in the aftermath of Sunrise's new subscription plans) have changed their T&C's and now after the minimum contract period the contract is not automatically renewed for a further 12 month!

here are more details:
Your improved conditions:
  • There is no longer a 12-month automatic renewal period. After your minimum period of 12 or 24 months, your contract is renewed for one-month periods
  • Itís easier to end your contract. You can leave us at the end of the minimum period or at the end of any one-month renewal period. You simply need to give 60 daysí notice
  • We no longer lock your SIM card, so you are free to use your devices with another operatorís SIM.

I still do not like the 60 day notice period (it should be 30 days) but the change is definitely a step in the right direction.

Re: Orange new T&C- no more automatic 12 month renewal

Is this retrospective, or only for new contracts?

Hopefully they will let us cancel without charging a fee when we leave the country too!

I don't have any fee for contract cancelation.

I'm not supoosed to be able to use other SIMs in my device? I've been using a Virgin UK SIM in my Orange CH phone for years when I'm abroad.
