Re: Bluewin TV - out tomorrow (November 1st 2006)

Blue win TV has been working fine for 10 days or so, but now it appears that there is a problem with the router, it keeps turning itself off.

Phoned the helpline and they will despatch a new router, from talking to them on the phone, it appears that it a known fault.

Credit to Swisscom, I phoned their helpline late yesterday afternoon and mentioned the router and one arrived in the post at 07.15 the next day.

Does anyone have an update on whether BBC1 will be available on Bluewin in the future?

Does anyone know if the router becomes your property, or do you have to give it back?

I ordered my BluewinTV on the 21st december and am still waiting for it. I was given to understand that I will have to hand over my existing modem.

I'll find out for sure when (if) the installation guys ever arrive.

Re: Bluewin TV - out tomorrow (November 1st 2006)

My router failed, it kept turning itself off. Rang Swisscom at 4.30pm and a new router was with me at 8am the next day. I never returned the failede router. Looks like it was a known problem, so if you are after a router then you know what to do!!! Pleased with the service and quality of the pictures. Still no news on BBC1, in Germany T mobile have launched their service called T-Home almost no English channels are included, which I find strange!!

Re: Bluewin TV - out tomorrow (November 1st 2006)

Well according informations on other webblogs on bluewin tv, there should be a software update at the end of january. I hope they include BBC1 in that......also there is a update planned in the summer, then there should be up to 250 tv channels to choose from......there also was a rumour going round that with the new software the Setupbow will work over Wireless......

You cannot watch one channel and record one at the moment at the same time. It is planned but many telephone exchanges will have to be upgraded so that you can receive two channels at the same time. That is what the engineer told me yesterday.
Well my Bluewin TV was installed today and on the whole I'm very pleased with it.

Because I live relatively near to the exchange, I can view one channel whilst recording another.

I have a question. There is a USB input socket on the back of my set top box. Any idea what it might be for?

Re: Bluewin TV - out tomorrow (November 1st 2006)

Well I heard that Bluewin is planning to send the tv signal via Wireless as the router is WLan and the USB on the Settopbox is for receiving the signal......Don't know if it's true........

That is most interesting as I was under the impression, but I could be wrong that ITV3 and Channel 5 are restricted to UK transmission as they are somehow, don't ask how, not treated as FTA within the terms of 89/552/EEC
