Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

I'm wondering if it is worth it yet...

I can't say any games, even the big open world ones like Watch Dogs, are troubling me with long load times...

Maybe I will wait until a new Elder Scrolls or Fallout game is released, as I remember cursing every time I entered anywhere on Skyrim on the PS3 as it took ages to load.

Fingers crossed we'll have something by the start of next year that can fully make use of a quicker drive and hopefully there might even be some 1TB SSDs on the market that aren't as expensive as buying another PS4!

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

Just fired Wolfenstein up today and wow, awesome game, it harks back to the days when single player experiences were the priority.

The graphics are also, coming from an ex-PC gamer, pretty damn good... and not a hint of slowdown to be seen, it's all smooth as a babies bum. I'm even starting to get used to using a controller for shooting things with!

Can't wait for The Last Of Us to be released... it's meant to be absolutely, jaw-droppingly epic.

I've heard good things about Wolfenstein, I bought it but still haven't played it yet! Are graphics truly next gen though? as BF4 & COD are ported ps3 games..

Agree about the last of us, that game was fantastic! Tempted to even buy it again just for the ps4.. glad they've finally released it on along with Grand theft auto.

Personally I would say the graphics are next-gen in terms of consoles... the character models and environments are great. It uses clever and unobtrusive depth of field effects to keep things running smooth too. Really fun game, and pretty big too!

With regards to BF4 and COD... I would expect they were ported from the PC rather than PS3 due to the architectural differences. The PS4 is basically a PC in all but name, so gets a lot of the graphical benefits.

Don't believe the hype.

Majority of their budget was spent on marketing.

Don't get me wrong it was a good game, but I found it to be quite clunky and no where near as polished as Tomb Raider.

It makes me wince every time the guys at IGN get paid to go on about it being the best game ever made.

Worth a purchase but don't expect to play through more than twice.

cheers

I don't believe the hype, I believe the countless professional and user reviews (including people I know well whose opinions and judgement are usually spot on) that say it is one of the best games ever made, and I don't expect to be disappointed in that department when I play it. It's been our for a good while now... so clearly it's gone way past hype. As for playing it through more than twice... I'm not sure I'd want to! Multiplayer is meant to be be pretty good too.

There was a lot of hype surrounding it when it was released on Ps3 last year, but it was definitely game of the year. The storyline is excellent, and the graphics were top draw even on the ps3! Well worth the purchase..

I did find the multi-player slightly strange & a bit boring though, a lot of crawling around and sniper rifles.. Guess I'm used to FPS too much..

To anyone wanting to be a part of the Destiny BETA... simply purchase the Destiny pre-order off of Amazon here http://www.amazon.co.uk/ACTIVISION-D...ds=destiny+ps4

Once purchased, you get an instant email with the BETA details and a code to use to get access.

Use the code as per the instructions, and then cancel your Amazon order. Simples.

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

I am done with Tomb Raider for the PS4 (UK Version, excellent condition, thanks Russkov ). Anybody up for a game trade? Interested in any game except Killzone, Need for Speed and Wolfenstein and willing to pay a bit extra if the game you offer is more expensive. PM me if you're interested.

What the hell... why so bloody cheap? Imports are identical in warranty etc so I literally can't see any reason for such a massive price drop. It's almost worth buying ten to sell on Ebay...

Many people are antsy about getting an import console, despite all games and most Blu-rays being region free. Plus supply issues are over and there's no more demand anymore, so I suppose this is digitec finally emptying their stock.

So I see digitec have an offer on their Samsung 250gb SSD at the moment...

https://shop.digitec.ch/en/s1/produc...7739?tagIds=76

135chf instead of 210, pretty good deal. Am tempted to give it a go, since I just finished Watchdogs and only have Destiny (Beta), Sniper Elite III and FIFA 14 on the current HDD, I'd still have plenty of room on a 250gb drive...

Didn't work for me; the Bungie site only accepts 9-character codes.

You need to enter it in the PSN store.

If you choose it from the PS4 menu, then scroll to the bottom of the navigation bar on the left hand side, there is an option "Redeem Codes". That takes 12 digit codes (don't include dash character, just the numbers/letters).

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

Just watched an hour of gameplay from the destiny beta.

Looks much better than I thought it would.

Some of the cut scene graphics look almost real.

This weekend I am busy and will have no time for gaming, but I will get one next week.

I asked before, but got no reply:

How much should I sell my slim 250gb ps3 with one controller and 20-25 games for????

cheers
SC

p.s. the chicks in the character creating look sexy.....fapfapfap....

As said before it makes not so much difference having an SSD... buy the 1TB then forget about it.

A third of the overall value, whether altogether or separately, I would imagine. Maybe half price for newer games.
