So why are wives not paid 6k CHF/mo for being at home with the kids then? Actually, a nanny can have my husband (as long as she keeps him) if I can get a sister wife to help with the kid.
I think the cheapest childcare solution I found when I was looking was in the range of 6k CHF and that was a live-out with the kid in school 5 days/week until 3 with 1 half-day. I wasn't interested in teens from foreign lands playing mom for peanuts.

Besides, it should be much more than that. A housewife is actually offering a package deal with an associated discount. Break it down into the component services (laundry, cooking, cleaning, grocery delivery, sex) and it costs a lot more. Though from what I hear from married friends, that last and most expensive service gets scaled back quite a bit - maybe that's how they justify the price reduction. | The following 2 users would like to thank Corbets for this useful post:

And if i employed somebody to cook, clean, laundry, shop etc .. Then I certainly wouldn't expect to still do half of it myself
And scaled back quite a lot!

| | Re: Nanny spy camera | Quote: | | | | | I wasn't interested in teens from foreign lands playing mom for peanuts. | | | | | Au-pairs are often older than 20. I think the maximum age of an au-pair in CH is 30, please someone correct me if I'm wrong. That's quite something, as people could (and often do) actually hire a live-in nanny, with degrees in child care/psychology etc. , references, for the price of a little more than what a teen au-pair would get for working only 30-35 h/week. Which is disgusting from the moral point of view, but...almost legal.
Because not everyone is ready to work for "peanuts" after they pay the nanny/creche etc. I know at least 2 persons who are left with maximum 2000 chf after paying the childcare, but they do it because they want to work. (outside of home)
You know, I admire women who gave up their career for raising their children instead of resorting to these kind of cheap/immoral solutions. That's something that their husbands should appreciate more, probably.

What you intend to do, that is hiding a camera to spy on people, is ILLEGAL.
You can do it but you have to tell the nanny.
If you have trusting issues you shouldn't hire people to take care of your child.
By the way you are not anonymous on the Internet. The police may pay you a visit after reading this. Just saying...

So in summary..
If you don't trust the nanny, fire her.
If she's nice, run off with her.
It's wrong to film people without them knowing, even in your house.
--especially if they might get undressed
--But sometimes it works great, for rubbish dumpers
An aupair != a nanny
Sex is scaled back after marriage.
We still don't know why the OP wanted the camera but we learned a lot from ... can spy cameras be bought in switzerland...

Genuine question. I don't know, but I recall some issue with a shop having a camera (possibly without having signs). Even then, I don't know if there are different rules for a private residence. | | | | | It's allowed under Swiss law, but only in the showers and changing rooms. | This user would like to thank Phil_MCR for this useful post:
