It's allowed under Swiss law, but only in the showers and changing rooms.
Loooong time ago, in my teenage years as an apprentice electrician .. I spent a lot time in roof space of hospitals, large dept stores etc. Installing fire alarms and general electrical stuffs.

Of course I was very professional but one time, a colleague of mine was not so careful and managed to miss the kneeling board / joist and fell through the ceiling and right into the ladies shower room of a -- police station! Nobody was in the shower at the time but a few questions were asked!
Those were the days before camera phones so you were guilty of peeping if you had a red eye from the draught.

Re: Nanny spy camera

I am not sure whether there are other posts from the authority already - seems that some previous links are no longer available so I am going to quote: "surveillance and control systems which are designed to observe employees' behaviour are illegal (Ordinance 3 of the Employment Act; in german)."

The official page also notes that this is a question that concerns many:
cf: https://www.edoeb.admin.ch/edoeb/en/...veillance.html

The law (in German): https://www.admin.ch/opc/de/classifi...index.html#a26 (Verordnung 3 zum Arbeitsgesetz - 5. Abschnitt: Überwachung der Arbeitnehmer - Art. 26.

Hope that this helps those who are still not sure - it is illegal to run surveillance in the workplace.
