Re: Satellite TV on internet

I think that 3000+ channels for £6.95 thre must be a catch. Usually all you will get is a list of URLs where you can view some TV online - if these are any use at all, they are totally overloaded and you can get on the sites...

I've just downloaded and installed it , took 10 minutes in total and have already watched BBC1 ITV1 from the UK, ABC and ESPN from America,
Absolutly brilliant, look forward to looking at others, Thanks,

Nick.

Re: Satellite TV on internet

I have been using the TVU player to watch TV online for free. So far, I've only used it to watch NFL (American) football on the major US TV networks (CBS, FOX, etc), but they have many other channels. Although my current connection isn't really fast enough to watch it comfortably, I'm planning to upgrade that soon.

True, I was a bit quick of the mark there, just asumed that it was the ITV news, however, I did have the luxury of watching Match of the Day last night on the laptop in bed!

Re: Satellite TV on internet

Well what should i say. I have tested this website as it cost only 6.95GBP.

http://www.free-web-tv.co.uk.

It is absolutely rubbish. No mainstream UK channels like BBC1 or 2 are part of the list. Most of the other channels are anyway not responding.
Then i took the liberty to send the mail to customer support and guess what no response.
Lesson learned.

Re: Satellite TV on internet

I am using Max TV for the BBC and it works quiet well. Alot of the other channels are no good but there are a few that are ok. I notice there are channel like HBO which is a US based subscriiption service cable channel. Therefore my question is:- Is it legal to use this service to watch these channels or am I going to get in trouble with the Swiss authorities?
Some of these channels such as BBC are free to view but others such as HBO are subscription so thats why I question the legality of this service.
Also the football link. Is that legal. I know its streams the matches out of China and they are again free to view channels in China but again are we allowed to watch these?

I downloaded MaxTV over the weekend. Before it would do the install, it insisted that I install an updated version of the microsoft.net framenet thing. I didn't completely understand this (that is, I didn't understand the computer jargon, the French was OK), so I allowed it to go ahead and it appeared that it installed an update from micorsoft and MaxTV was then happy to go ahead.

Re: Satellite TV on internet

I have a Mac so I am limited in terms of programs. However, I read last week about "Zattoo" ( http://www.zattoo.com/ ) and have used it to watch ARD, CNN, Euronews, and BBC World. They carry the main Swiss and German channels, and are adding more in English, French, German, and Italian in the near future. There is, as of yet, no cost. However, I get the feeling it is not really anything of extreme interest as it only carries news channels in English at the moment
