Re: Is it possible to subscribe to Sky sports online from CH

No English Premier League on sky.de

Has anybody tried DAZN.com to watch it?

What does "exklusive Internet-Abo" mean?

It's a streaming subscription to access via internet only (i.e. there won't be a dedicated channel).

Re: Is it possible to subscribe to Sky sports online from CH

As I mentioned in another thread, I subscribe to www.ntv.mx, where I pay €15 per month for access to all Sky Sports HD channels, as well as a multitude of other sports and English language channels in SD. It's a streaming site, so there are occasional buffering issues, but it isn't that disruptive.

I watched quite a few games with DAZN last year, the quality of stream was good but not HD. The main issue that many people have is that the games only have german commentary.

AFAIK, with Teleclub you can get the "original" commentary. Strange this option isn't available with an internet subscription.

I believe that Teleclub have no rights for the premier league anymore in the german part of Switzerland, DAZN have the rights for Germany, Austria and CHDE. Swisscom carry what I believe is a teleclub channel for premier league with French commentary only.

Alternatively buy a Kodi box (in the UK or Germany) and stream Sky Sports that way. Legal in Switzerland I'm led to believe even if they're trying to ban them in the UK.

I signed up for DAZN with the first month free, and am quite impressed with the picture quality watching the Arsenal game. If you have a smart TV you can install the DAZN app on it. Apart from the German commentary it looks well worth 12.90 CHF a month

I probably watched half of the last season on DAZN on the iPad and was really happy with it, at the end of the season they released the AppleTV app that many were waiting for and I will try that for the first time tomorrow for the Man United game. The german commentary is ok but it’s still not the same as listening to the key English pundits.

Re: Is it possible to subscribe to Sky sports online from CH

Yesterday I switched from DAZN to NTV for the games I watched, I will be cancelling DAZN and sticking with NTV from now on - the quality was excellent (HD was better than DAZN when streamed onto a large TV) and the commentary was in English.

I caught some of the two games from yesterday on NTV and it seems to have improved somewhat. The HD quality was better then I remember and there were no buffering issues at all. Shame about the results though

Re: Is it possible to subscribe to Sky sports online from CH

Buy an IPTV box. I got a MAG 256 from Digitec at ca. CHF 70.00
Plug box to your network (Wifi or wire) and your TV (HDMI)
Buy subscription from service provider - I use ACE TV (www.ace-hosting.net) that cost GBP 90.00 a year (or buy month by month for GBP 10.00)
Watch ca. 1000 channels from all over the world, including all the Sky stuff and US channels . HD channels look great, no buffering, actually works better than my local cable provider.

Re: Is it possible to subscribe to Sky sports online from CH

Hi,

subscribe to NOW tv and get a sports pass for the time when you want to watch sport. No problem using a vpn or smart dns. Currently there is a special offer 20 pounds per month for 2 months for the sports pass. I use the entertainment pass but if you want to watch sport it would fulfill your requirements.

Have fun
Martin

I tried NowTV for a while but found the quality to be really poor, especially during big games.

Just checked that, looks pretty cool. If I have a smartTV and can get IPTV app, do I also need an IPTV box? Or the smarttv can handle everything?! Is there any other advantage of having a nice iptv box?

The box is better at streaming than a TV. From what I have heard most TV apps for IPTV are pretty horrible. The box is only CHF 92.50 on Digitec (has gone up by CHF 20.00 since last week!)

You can get a 24 hour free subscription from Ace (and most IPTV providers) and test their service with your IPTV app.

Another option is an Amazon Fire TV box where you can run kodi.
