Has anyone experienced unusual network issues with this SALT that never used to occur under Orange? Did Orange uproot its network masts or something when they sold the company? At this rate I will be going back to Swisscom whence I came. The only alternative is Sunrise and that too has rather patchy coverage from what I hear.
I've found Sunrise coverage around Lake Zurich and the nearby mountains to be excellent - much much better than Orange, and similar to Swisscom.

There are still gaps in remote areas, and in different places to the Swisscom ones, but nothing like the huge areas I experienced with Orange.

you do know that Sunrise is the service provider of the SBB so there is an excellent signal to be had along the railtracks and boosters in the trains?

So far it's been positive for me(payg), the website works again for checking usage, service seems the same as ever and they offered double recharges.

I'll not be climbing the battlements to scream their praises to the elder gods but it's ok so far

My phone still reports the Network identifier as 'Orange' though, I'm wondering when (if) that will change and what effect it will have on my dual sim phone. I set my preferred networks for data/sms/calls according to the network ID.

if you restart your phone, you should get the new "Salt" identifier.

What images do 'Salt' conjure up apart from arterial hypertension and one half of an 80's rap duet? What I'm saying 22 Yards is that the name sucks, and I don't want it on my phone
My initial thought was that it was a typo for salat, which best expresses what that company is about.

After several days of Salt. mine has now gone back to saying Orange.

Bizarrely my son who is sitting next to me on the sofa has Salt. on his phone despite his subscription being tied to mine.

Re: Orange CH name change - 23.04.2015

I downloaded the Salt app and within an hour or so it started to say Salt as the operator. Probably a complete coincidence, but at first I kept thinking the stupid app was trying to send me push notifications.

Re: Orange CH name change - 23.04.2015

Another plus mark for Salt. Received my new phone, but of course my old micro SIM didn't fit, so popped along to the shop and they exchanged immediately for a nano SIM, no question. It even came in a small credit card sized cardboard folder, unlike the the old bulky plastic packaging the Orange SIM used to arrive in. Oh yeah, it now say Salt as the provider .
