Streaming services?

Ok, I have lived in Switzerland for 2 years now. I am a big Roma fan and naturally wanted to Watch the upcoming serie A season - but Teleclub's more than expensive sports pack, seems to be the only TV channel, that covers it here. Fair enough. But I know that fx in Denmark, where I am from, we have Viaplay.dk where you can purchase single games or subscribe for a certain League. Problem is that doesn't Work when I'm sitting in Switzerland, as it is only for Danish residents. So now the question. Do you have a similar site here where people can purchase access to online streaming of fx sports events, Leagues and so forth?? There has to be, right? Otherwise it seems like Teleclub has monopol and while that may explain their psycho prices, it doesn't make sense in a country like this, where competition is flowing freely on so many other areas.

Anyways, hope someone can help me, or at least enlighten me on this matter.

Thanks in advance,

Martin K

Re: Streaming services?

Hi,

you don't actually need a vpn, though that would work. What you could do is just use a smart dns service. I use Unotelly and it looks like they support viaplay https://www2.unotelly.com/channels# and they offer a free trial for a week so you can see if it works. Naturally you still need to be a subscriber to viaplay they just enable you to be able to see the service here.

Have fun

Martin

Re: Streaming services?

The smart VPN I use is Unlocator. It works for Viaplay (Denmark) as well. I use it mostly for Netflix (USA) and Xfinity. It is easy to use and setup. It can be setup at router level or for individual computers, tablets, phones. I think smart VPNs are supposed to be a bit faster than VPN. I also like it because it targets specific websites and leaves the rest alone.

Re: Streaming services?

+1 for a smartdns

I use Overplay SmartDNS and it also covers viaplay.dk. I've found it excellent for all the UK streaming services I need and is really fast, faster than a VPN. I have changed the DNS settings on my Swisscom router so all the devices in the house use it, although you can set it up on each device individually if preferred.

They do also offer a VPN service, which I recently added as it is a bit simpler to use when out and about (the SmartDNS service needs a small tweak to your settings if you use it outside of home), but otherwise the SmartDNS service is great and perfect for streaming from home.

I meant smart DNS, not smart VPN. Doh!
