Ways to send email to SMS devices?

Is there a free email to SMS gateway for Swisscom? How about M-Budget Mobile?

Wikipedia doesn't list them, but what do they know?

Re: email to SMS gateway?

The wikipedia link mentions the xtrazone web SMS gateway for their customers who aren't 26 years old yet, and the Windows/Outlook program. That's all there is.

I'm lucky and can use the SMS gateway of a university...

Re: email to SMS gateway?

I use www.esend.ch and happy with it. It is not free, but pretty cheap. Subscription is free and you get an email address to forward your email to it. If you hear of a completely free service where you don't pay for sent
SMS please let me know.
I hope this helps!

It sounds like lokami wants to send an e-mail to something like 07xxxxxxxx@mobile.sunrise.ch and have it delivered as an SMS to the recipients phone.

I wish that existed for Orange ...

Thats quite cool. I wonder would the recipients phone service provider debit their pre-paid or monthly billed account for them to receive such an sms?

they don't .. receiving SMSs is free of charge, isn't it ?

the service provider, who forwards your email as an SMS would have to find a way of recovering a cost from the sender.

Usually it's the sender that has to pay.

Btw, if you have a Sunrise mobile, you can send up to 100 sms's free per month from a computer and 50 more for 5chf- which is either billed to you or debited from your pre-pay.

Well... if you have a Mac, you could use this widget.

A quick google shows there are others.

Sadly I don't have a Mac, and I haven't found a (free) tool or Web site that actually works yet.

Rumor has it that CS employees have an undocumented e-mail-to-SMS interface built into their Outlook.

This outlook plugin is available to all Swisscom customers, but the SMS are zero Rappen cheaper than sending from your phone.

Nathus means this one

and here's a collection of other Email-to-SMS resources if you really want to explore the subject further.
The page is in Deutsch, but it's pretty simple to figure out ....

Sorry, that's not what CS has. It's server-side, not client-side.

Okay... They might have better prices then, too.

Might add that only works for Office on a Windows platform and not a Mac.

we have an email to sms server - I think they were supposed to take it off line and forgot - I'd hate to remind them but if you want me to find out what it is I can let you know
