Re: How is it LycaMobile's International bundle is cheaper w/ more than its National

Has anyone noticed a complete drop off of the data speeds with Lyca in the last 1-2 months?

My wife and I are both using Lyca's "Hello Swiss S/EU19" bundle for the past year. I know about the drop off after you hit 3 GB's of downloaded data but even in the first week after renewing the bundle, normal web pages without much dynamic content do not load even in the centre of Zürich. Before pages used to load really fast in the middle of the mountains!

I checked the apn settings and all seems normal:
APN: data.lycamobile.ch

I work in Canton Zug, live in the south of Canton Zürich. I have also been in Bern, Lugano, Luzern and Schwyz in the past two weeks due to people visiting me. It doesn't seem to be working anywhere I have been or sporadically working at best.

Thanks for providing the speed test, are you using the "Hello Swiss S" bundle?

A little less for me today .. But not full signal and I'm in a village 30km from the test server.

http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/i/2148172097

Usually it's capped at around 18mb/s

Edit -- I have no bundle, just buy data each month.

It seems there is no longer any roaming offer with the EU19 package. Earlier you could use your EU19 packages without any additional charge in EU, UK, USA, Australia etc...

Lyca is swisscom network, the cover is excellent, the best.. If you can live with crap service and confusing deals then it's great.
After the next bundle purchase, the data coverage and speed seems to be back to normal.

Interesting that the operator they seem to be piggybacking on is now Salt, maybe they switched to them from Swisscom?

Me too. I came off Salt a couple of years ago as I have no reception at home. So I'll know if there's a change...

So what do people do now when they cross the border?

Dam nit. Do you have the same problem perhaps? Since some weeks whenever I call abroad (Germany, France, Poland) instead of my number some +30... is displayed. Some people are afraid of picking up calls from unknown long +30... etc number. In addition the connection quality is terrible. I prefer calling ovber wassup or skype whenever possible to be able to normally talk.

Anyone the same experience lately with Lyca?

Does anyone know the charges on Lycamobile CH while roaming overseas?

I'm on their CHF29 M bundle and going to London this weekend. I can't find any information on international roaming data charges. Will it be taken off my credit as extra outside the bundle and how much would it cost per MB?

Call them and ask. They have poor info on their website to be honest. I couldn't find ever the data roaming packages there.

For now there is one working at least in germany, spain, poland, france (tested in all of these countries). This is 1 month package of 1 GB costs 12 chf.

You have to dial *139*7101#

Re: How is it LycaMobile's International bundle is cheaper w/ more than its National

I'm on what was EU19, now Hello Swiss Small. But the service seems the same. In the U.K. 2 weeks ago and got my UK mobile number as soon as I as I switched my phone on.

Data roaming was off, but mobile data on as in SWitzerland. I used 3G for a week. The charges are not understandable. Sometime it was free, other times 50cents per session regardless of how long or how much data. About CHF15 for the week...

Did you make any calls or send SMSes? Are those included in the EU19?

I'm on Swiss 29, does that mean mine doesn't include any roaming service ..

Yes you can keep the number. But make sure your personal details are the same on both Sim cards.
