| | Post box for non-residents
I'm planning for the day I leave Switzerland.
I forsee a requirement to have a Swiss address to receive postal mail on a continuing basis (for bills, etc. on properties I own).
What options are there for receiving such mail e.g. ideally a service that would receive the mail, scan it and then email me the scan and/or collect the post for me and forward it to an overseas address.
I have seen such a service but couldn't remember if it existed in CH and didn't see it on the post.ch website.

Post forwarding is only 115chf or so per year and really fast. Post arrived a couple of days after the dates on letters for me

Loads of business centers offer the service, but probably charge an arm and a leg. There are certain buildings in SZ, ZG and along the gold coast that house dozens of companies... allegedly.

(joke but true) we have an elderly neighbour at below our flat in the UK who kindly takes the post from our letter-box. We give hime SAS envelopes - but lately he has decided to open the letters so there will be less weight to send
Do you have a friend here in CH you would trust to do that- eg open, scan and send for a few bottles of something nice from time to time?

The bumph is left in our house for us to dump when we get over there again. |

The good old CH Post offers the service you need. Would be worthwhile to drop by your local post office and ask for the details. They scan all of the mail etc. for you so really easy to pay your bills etc. from there.

It might not be everything you need. Only certain senders participate (I guess it's like the invoices you receive in E-Billing) | Quote: | | | | Currently, participating companies include PostFinance Ltd, Schweizerische Mobiliar Versicherungsgesellschaft AG, Motorfahrzeugkontrolle Solothurn, two magazines (Vivai and VisanaForum) and several SMEs. And new companies are joining as senders all the time. | | | | | It's also not clear if you need a physical address here to use the service.

When you apply for the new post account you need to be a Swiss resident. As it was not possible to enter a foreign address when I moved they probably still think I am still resident.

Did you find a resolution with Swiss Post Box or did you find a suitable alternative? The only alternatives I can find are just too anonymous to feel comfortable with - no names, telephone numbers, company names or references!

| | Re: Post box for non-residents
unfortunately Swiss Post Box changed into E-Post and 1) killed the ability to non-residents to use the service and 2) raised prices from "free" to min. 20chf per month.
Sucks.. I liked an used the service and now I will have to keep it on for 3-4 months until I change all incoming addresses to my real address.
But as for you, since you mentioned to own properties here, you should be able to register for the service with your property address AND use the scan solution on an ongoing basis... why not?
good luck,

Any news with this issue?
I've used swiss post box for many years, but now they've canceled for all non-residents. Some alternatives?
