Screen getting a pink tint!

Hi,

The skies were grey over Geneva today, but my PC screen (HP Pavilion 23xi) is getting pink on the left hand-side. At times, if you are on homepage, it even looks like another page (even though it's been shut) is slightly fading through, like a superimposition.
We don't play computer games and have done nothing unusual. Any theories, tips?

Step 1 : Try another video cable
Step 2: Get it replaced if it's under warranty
Step 3: Buy another one if not

Had the same with a Lenovo, had the whole thing replaced as it was under warranty. We exchanged about 20 laptops, all with the same issue

I'm affraid to have bad news.
Your screen has turned gay, it needs to be put down.

PS: try this>

Honestly for generic screen color alteration issues, beside a factory fw upgrade and reset, I don't see what else could be done... And even the FW thing is just to hope it would create some kind of reset of the FW and eventually make things better. It did once on a dell.

In the worse case, replacing by a decent 24" costs approx 200chf nowadays. It's a cost but not the end of the world.

True, actually try to see:

-If it's not cable
-If it's not the plug loose
-Also if the issue is not connection related for ex HDMI or DVI. You use one, try the other method, ex if you're using HDMI, try DVI (your screen has VGA, DVI-D and HDMI inputs)

-If it's not the connecting device (the PC here), try to connect some other device to it. If it's your PC then it's another story.

Re: Screen getting a pink tint!

My iPad was doing that early last week, a very faint but obvious brownish-pink tinge in the lower right hand corner. Lasted a couple of days then disappeared as mysteriously as it came.

Something special in the Geneva airwaves???

Certainly a massive thunderstorm! The pink disappeared yesterday morning and reappeared by the evening. I've tried the cables, tried "Factory reset" on the menu... nothing works. Bizarre.
