Re: DAZN - Sports Streaming

Very disappointed in the DAZN development but at least they appear to continue with the Primera Liga which is what I watch most - although I loved that I could also watch the Premiership & Dutch leagues

BeIN (France) have commentators I enjoy but regrettably you cannot subscribe from Switzerland as big networks are drawing lines around the globe with escalating fees

Years on, it's either back to pirate streams or simply waiting to download matches after they've been played live

Re: DAZN - Sports Streaming

I just attempted to use NTV to watch England play in the West Indies - I last tried it a few years ago but my DSL download speed was never sufficient to watch the cricket without constant stuttering. Now my download speed is sufficient and it turns out that NTV has been closed down by the powers that be. Considering the state of England's batting maybe this is a blessing for me in disguise

I think you'll be glad to have missed our batting

Now that DAZN has launched in America, does anyone know if you can get commentaries in English for games here?

Re: DAZN - Sports Streaming

I tweeted them last night and got a reply. I said I was only interested in Arsenal (PL) games and they said "In that case you would find two different streams with different audio in the program selection".

Can anyone with DAZN confirm or deny this for Premier League games?

Also, do they show every PL game or just selected ones per weekend?

I was watching a game last Saturday in German and the commentator made a comment that now there is also English commentary. I looked around and still can't figure out how to get the English commentary.

They show almost every game but not all live. On Saturdays for example, they will show the early and late matches live, and 1 of the afternoon ones (as there will be a few games at the same time). What was not shown live will be shown as a delayed telecast starting at 11pm the same day. Most of the games of the top-6 clubs will be shown either live or delayed at 11pm. From the next day onwards, you can also choose between a match highlights reel (about 5 minutes) or the full match.

If I recall correctly in the previous season, I only had to resort to Match of the Day about 5-8 times to watch my favourite team. Not bad for a 38 game season.

This year the FA cup is also live. Last night's Everton match was shown live, as well as the RM-Barcelona and also an FA cup match.

Would be interested to see if you were able to find English commentaries for anything. They tweeted to tell me that the Superbowl was available in ENG and DEU - I dunno if you can check on catchup somehow and see how they present the separate commentaries for it?

I know that for American football you can choose the German commentaries or the 'original' US ones. It showed up as 2 different events on the home screen. I know because I watched the Superbowl some days ago

For the Spanish Liga and Copa, you have to go with the German ones. I can check for the next Arsenal game and let you know

That would be great, thanks! 4pm on Saturday vs Huddersfield.

Re: DAZN - Sports Streaming

I use DAZN and have never seen anything about English commentary, except for the Superbowl. (The game commentary was from CBS and the other 14 hours was back to the studio, in German. I watched on replay the next morning so the skip 30 second button was v. handy)

I quite like the Germans who do the Premier League commentary. I don't understand all of it, but there's a lot of self-explanatory 'De Gea UNGLAUBLICH' and 'De Gea STARK!!' and 'IMMER DE GEA' and they're much more likely to openly laugh at, for example, Mustafi's defending than a UK guy.

But yeah, interested for the next game to see if there's a new button I haven't noticed.

When Mustafi plays, there is no laughter in my household, only tears.

There is in mine. Just praying he plays in the NLD.

Re: DAZN - Sports Streaming

As I mentioned there are usually 3 matches shown live on Saturdays - for this Saturday they will show:

Fulham-Man Utd (early match)
Liverpool- Bournemouth (the 4pm jam)
Brighton Burnley(late match)

And the rest are Delayed (11pm)
Arsenal v Huddersfield
Southhampton v Cardiff
Watford v Everton
Palace v West Ham

I expect all the Sunday matches will be live too, and any other game on a week night when it is the only game (usually Monday, Friday).

Re: DAZN - Sports Streaming

I just did a quick search and it seems that the premier league will return to Sky for next season. If this is included in the normal Sky Sports streaming package, then it fine as I like to watch the golf which is also on Sky. You can switch to English commentary for the golf so I hope that goes for the football too.

I'm happy as long as we are not forced to order Teleclub just to get sky sports like in the old days...

Re: DAZN - Sports Streaming

Other than having to watch Arsenal, the only thing I dislike about DAZN is that I can't VPN into it from other countries. Oh and the delay is a little annoying if you're looking at twitter.

Still a great service, mega stable.

Re: DAZN - Sports Streaming

I couldn't find any way to change commentary to English on any of the games I watched over the weekend. I don't think DAZN has that feature.

Another stupid question - If I don't want any extra hardware, is there any online subscription for Sky DE (or UK for that matter, I guess) that I could use?
