DAZN - Sports Streaming

So since Swisscom stopped broadcasting the Primera Liga football I was on the lookout for alternative options on how to watch Spanish footy live en Suisse. Stumbled upon DAZN which apparently streams a variety of sporting events for those living in Germany, Austria & Switzerland

12.90 CHF per month, with first month free. Anyone tried this out yet?

Re: DAZN - Sports Streaming

Yes I've got it. Worked great for the first month, casting directly to my chromecast. Last few free weeks though it stopped casting. But note, all other Dazn sports cast perfectly except EPL, which is the only reason I subscribe to Dazn. So at the moment unless you like watching the EPL only on your phone, I'd give Dazn a miss.

I assume this then means the Primera Liga is available via DAZN?

Any update on your experience with the service? HD?

I've got it, use it to watch Barclays Premier League games...great quality and works every time on PC, TV, Mobile etc.

I can't believe the price, and I am amazed that it's possible to opt-out at any time...how tv subscriptions should be.

I used to pay 130/quarter for TeleSport in standard definition, it was terrible

FCBarca 23.08.2017 15:10

Re: DAZN - Sports Streaming

Cheers for that and what about HD options for matches? Is this available and for all matches?

thekman 24.08.2017 09:13

Re: DAZN - Sports Streaming

From what I know all the games broadcast are in High Definition quality, certainly the EPL games were. It's probably closer to 720p than 1080p as it's a live stream, so not AS good as say a normal HD broadcast via cable...but the difference is negligible.

My problem with DAZN was at the end of last season and only when trying to cast live events to Chromecast i.e. none of the live events would cast even though all non-live events cast perfectly.

Since the new season started it casts live events to the Chromecast perfectly.

I would definitely recommend you try DAZN for La Liga. The first month is free and if you don't like it in subsequent months you simply suspend or cancel your subscription.

Probably not all matches though.

I am using it since few months and it's working perfectly. The only thing I don't like is that they are not broadcasting French league so I cannot see Neymar playing

Worked perfectly again this weekend.
I watched Chelsea v Everton and Liverpool v Arsenal LIVE on my home television by casting from the DAZN app on my Android phone to the Chromecast.

I can't believe how good value this service is.
If only they had a English language option...

Tbh I enjoy their commentary, it's a break from some of the crap served up by sky/BT sports. And it helps with the German :p

Hi guys,

DAZN looks quite cool...but they don't have the Champions League for this season (2017-18) :( And today SRF isn't broadcasting the Real Madrid vs. Tottenham  Is the only option left Teleclub then?

Thanks a lot!

Raaaabert 17.10.2017 10:45

Yeah it's unfortunate that DAZN doesn't have Champions League.

Try this link;

RTS2 (Swiss French) are showing it :D. Otherwise go to Reddit for English commentary

Started it today, watched El Clasico and City match in HD - very happy with the decision. No time like the present to pick up some German :D

Signed up yesterday to watch the Arsenal vs Liverpool match. Itís mildly more convenient to get it on the tv (LG webOS app), but compared to the streaming I already pay for, the picture quality was worse, it cut out more, the commentary is in German and itís more expensive. Iíll give it another match, but I canít seem them getting my money.

An old thread, but I've used DAZN for a while and they are pretty good. The quality is perfect (for my modest needs -- no mega home cinema screen) and dependable.

Downsides: no Italian football, no Champions League.

I didn't know this. It will be a deal-breaker for me. I will end my subscription at the end of this season and look for an alternative.

The streaming service I've used for several years at a cost of about 8 CHF a month is http://www.247hd.tv/. Is it legal? Questionable. Can be patchy now and then but still the most professional of the streaming services I've come across. Seems to show absolutely everything that's available on TV anywhere, including all Premier League games live, even the obscure ones.

That's a massive shame - god knows what I'll do next season.

I personally love Dazn...the TV app is sometimes terrible, but using the phone and Airplaying onto the projector etc. is perfect. Quality is close to HD.

Hope something comes out next season...I hate Teleclub!

Ahh crap. Looks like I'll be cancelling my DAZN subscription end of this season then. Shame really, as I've grwon quite accustomed to using it. I will not subscribe to Sky.

Re: DAZN - Sports Streaming

Very disappointed in the DAZN development but at least they appear to continue with the Primera Liga which is what I watch most - although I loved that I could also watch the Premiership & Dutch leagues

BeIN (France) have commentators I enjoy but regrettably you cannot subscribe from Switzerland as big networks are drawing lines around the globe with escalating fees

Years on, it's either back to pirate streams or simply waiting to download matches after they've been played live

Re: DAZN - Sports Streaming

I just attempted to use NTV to watch England play in the West Indies - I last tried it a few years ago but my DSL download speed was never sufficient to watch the cricket without constant stuttering. Now my download speed is sufficient and it turns out that NTV has been closed down by the powers that be. Considering the state of England's batting maybe this is a blessing for me in disguise :(

I think you'll be glad to have missed our batting :)

Now that DAZN has launched in America, does anyone know if you can get commentaries in English for games here?

Not so far, it's still only in German

I tweeted them last night and got a reply. I said I was only interested in Arsenal (PL) games and they said "In that case you would find two different streams with different audio in the program selection".

Can anyone with DAZN confirm or deny this for Premier League games?

Also, do they show every PL game or just selected ones per weekend?

I was watching a game last Saturday in German and the commentator made a comment that now there is also English commentary. I looked around and still can't figure out how to get the English commentary.

They show almost every game but not all live. On Saturdays for example, they will show the early and late matches live, and 1 of the afternoon ones (as there will be a few games at the same time). What was not shown live will be shown as a delayed telecast starting at 11pm the same day. Most of the games of the top-6 clubs will be shown either live or delayed at 11pm. From the next day onwards, you can also choose between a match highlights reel (about 5 minutes) or the full match.

If I recall correctly in the previous season, I only had to resort to Match of the Day about 5-8 times to watch my favourite team. Not bad for a 38 game season.

This year the FA cup is also live. Last night's Everton match was shown live, as well as the RM-Barcelona and also an FA cup match.

Would be interested to see if you were able to find English commentaries for anything. They tweeted to tell me that the Superbowl was available in ENG and DEU - I dunno if you can check on catchup somehow and see how they present the separate commentaries for it?

I know that for American football you can choose the German commentaries or the 'original' US ones. It showed up as 2 different events on the home screen. I know because I watched the Superbowl some days ago :)

For the Spanish Liga and Copa, you have to go with the German ones. I can check for the next Arsenal game and let you know ;)

That would be great, thanks! 4pm on Saturday vs Huddersfield.

Re: DAZN - Sports Streaming

I use DAZN and have never seen anything about English commentary, except for the Superbowl. (The game commentary was from CBS and the other 14 hours was back to the studio, in German. I watched on replay the next morning so the skip 30 second button was v. handy)

I quite like the Germans who do the Premier League commentary. I don't understand all of it, but there's a lot of self-explanatory 'De Gea UNGLAUBLICH' and 'De Gea STARK!!' and 'IMMER DE GEA' and they're much more likely to openly laugh at, for example, Mustafi's defending than a UK guy.

But yeah, interested for the next game to see if there's a new button I haven't noticed.

As I mentioned there are usually 3 matches shown live on Saturdays - for this Saturday they will show:

Fulham-Man Utd (early match)
Liverpool- Bournemouth (the 4pm jam)
Brighton Burnley(late match)

And the rest are Delayed (11pm)
Arsenal v Huddersfield
Southhampton v Cardiff
Watford v Everton
Palace v West Ham

I expect all the Sunday matches will be live too, and any other game on a week night when it is the only game (usually Monday, Friday).

I just did a quick search and it seems that the premier league will return to Sky for next season. If this is included in the normal Sky Sports streaming package, then it fine as I like to watch the golf which is also on Sky. You can switch to English commentary for the golf so I hope that goes for the football too.

I'm happy as long as we are not forced to order Teleclub just to get sky sports like in the old days...

Other than having to watch Arsenal, the only thing I dislike about DAZN is that I can't VPN into it from other countries. :msnsarcastic: Oh and the delay is a little annoying if you're looking at twitter.

Still a great service, mega stable.

Another stupid question - If I don't want any extra hardware, is there any online subscription for Sky DE (or UK for that matter, I guess) that I could use?
