Re: Yet another "best laptop" thread

The x360 i posted is the second generation (late 2016) getting rave reviews all over. It can be identified (as far as I can tell, and I agree it's confusing) by the "7200" in its name (Kaby Lake processors) whereas the old one is a "5xxx" (and strangely still on sale at similar prices to the new gen!).

My question still stands: the exact same model is priced almost 200chf higher elsewhere (and only 1 place) and almost 400chf more at "regular" retailers. How the hell can it be so cheap at Interdiscount?

Well, you can always go and check it out at one of the stores.
I saw from the GPU that it should be the newer model, yes.

I'd make sure you really get what you want and not buy because somebody fumbled the wrong description to an item.

Re: Yet another "best laptop" thread

I've been really happy with my Acer V3. A no-nonsense work horse that is easily upgradeable/maintainable and has a decent set of ports:

The main downsides are that it could be smaller and lighter.

It's plastic, fine if you don't travel with it, PITA if you do. That M.2 drive at 256GB may be a little small but obviously depends on your use.

Have you considered buying a second hand Mac? I bought one over eBay. Paid 650 pounds and I have had it for 3 years now. And that was Macbook Pro Retina, not even the Air type. Can't complain. No issues at all so far.

Is this a big problem for durability or cooling?

Re: Yet another "best laptop" thread

Durability. If you travel, you'd probably want a pouch. I find plastic cases scratch very easily. Otherwise, it's a non issue.
