Re: Opinions on this PC Philips Monitor

Anything below 1920x1200 is absolutely no-go.
Don't . Go. There.

I've got Dual 1920x1200 at work and it's OK-ish.

2x 2560x1440 would be better. Or even 2*2560x1600. But I kind-of understand that the business can't just spend a 120 grand on nice displays.

Re: Opinions on this PC Philips Monitor

Still only 1920x1080.

How much do you want to spend, actually?

Maybe go for a U2415?

http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/pr...dt1&l=de&s=bsd

Seems to be a nice display.

I'd always buy from Dell directly. While you can get it cheaper elsewhere, in case of a defect you only get refurbished ones (AFIAK).

Running a resolution as low as 1080p on a 24" monitor makes no sense unless you like looking at large pixels. Go for a 1440p monitor.

Re: Opinions on this PC Philips Monitor

Well I have ordered the Dell S2415H. Has good reports. I wanted a monitor with glossy screen.

From what I have read about warranty parts Dell always uses refurbished no matter where you buy it. But I have no experience with Dell so cannot say for sure. Hopefully I will not have to make any claims.

I have a 23 Zoll Monitor 1080 now and for me its no problems. I have a good Graphic card.

1080p on a 24" monitor will still look very blocky and pixellated. You should have gone with a smaller size screen imo.

To game? Ok 1080p is good enough but if you intention are also gaming you made a bad choice...

The Dell S2415H has only a 60Hz refreshing rate and a gray-to-gray response of 6ms (that's a lot nowadays).

It depends what you use your monitor for only then people can suggest you what to buy...

Also since the original opinion asked was about a Philips monitor, I usually avoid them. They have some weird flickering going on on bright colors. It's hardly noticeable but after some hours of working you get headaches. Not sure about newer models.

I myself use a Asus MX299Q it has a coil whine when the sound is plugged in. But since I use external sound output I'm still in love with this monitor. Not recommended for gamming though

If it is a daily screen for browsing and pictures etc then you really made a mistake not getting a 24" monitor with 1440p resolution. As has been said multiple times, and you keep ignoring, a 1080p resolution stretched out on such a large monitor as 24" will look horrible and pixelated. It will actually decrease image quality

You should have got the Dell U2515H https://www.digitec.ch/en/s1/product...?tagIds=77-624

When you spend hours every day staring at the same screen, which you will probably now keep for several years, it is worth spending a little extra. Your eyes are worth more than an extra 150chf. It is not worth sacrificing so much visual quality for the sake of a glossy screen, either. Reflections are annoying.

You are properly the first one which specifically wants a glossy, glary, annoyingly reflecting screen.

Any good monitore will be anti glare.
