Forgot Billag - what now?

Hey guys,
we've been living here for one year and had the Internet+TV connection from UPC (big mistake, I see that now..). Among our first bills, we received a bill in ca. the same amount as Billag is (450CHF) - and even contacted UPC, who said that it's for "our radio and TV connection". That's why we assumed it's Billag.
But now we found out it wasn't and it was just the payment for the UPC socket! The Billag guy visited us while only our friend, who slept over, was at home (what a stupid coincidence), so we couldn't even ask or discuss anything. I have registered on the same day when he came and when we found out that nice surprise that we didn't pay for Billag the whole time... I think he came because we are moving out of Switzerland on 1.3. and we de-registered at the office, so now they are checking EVERYTHING.
So now my question is - what can we expect? How high can the fine be in this case? Are we in big trouble? :/

You will likely just pay from when you registered.

Oh, that would be great. I just found info that they can fine you up to 5000 CHF, that's why I panicked a little... Thank you!

No, you will be fine. We didn't pay for the 1st year we were here, because we didn't know about it. When we paid/registered the form asked from what date and we just back-dated from the time we arrived, no problem.
