P.s. if you think the BBC is pro EU you obviously have never watched that either.
P.p.s. If you go with plan B, how will you gatherthis evidence without watching it? | | | | | Screenshots from Swissinfo.

| | Re: Bye bye Billag [Welcome our new overlord Serafe] | Quote: | | | | | I live in Switzerland. I have just received the new TV and radio licence fee, which from this month is compulsory for every household here. It amounts to 365 CHF a year. Anyone who has a WIFI router, smartphone, TV, radio etc must pay. I do not want to pay this for two reasons. I never watch Swiss TV or listen to Swiss radio. But that means nothing to them. I still have to cough up. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, the SRF (Swiss Broadcasting Corporation) is not in any way impartial or objective in its news coverage.....like the BBC, it is a progressive Left propaganda machine. You know...pro-EU, anti-Trump and America, identiy politics, pro-AGW,. pro-immigration. Anti-Israel. Globalist. And massive omissions in its reporting. The whole gamut. As a public broadcaster funded by tax payers via the fee, it is obliged to be objective, so therefore we are talking about a dereliction of duty. Here's what I have in mind.
If I don't pay the bill, and after a few warnings, and also not paying the eventual 5000 CHF fine(!) I would have to spend some time in prison I guess and of course be put on the debt collectors register...and even deported. This is a freedom tax. Extortion. The Swiss don't mess about!! Alternatively, I pay the bill, and then sue the SRF for the above dereliction of duty as a public broadcaster. That would mean a lawyer and having to collect evidence.
Is there anyone else on here who does not want to pay this because they don't use the service? And is there anyone here who would be interested in crowdfunding to pay for a case against the SRF? | | | | | That's a great idea! Go for it!
It's so much worse: The entire bloody country is as you describe it. The worst thing I guess for you is the <<pro-immigration>> bit.
A tiny bit of advice (in case your lawyer should not know about this), once you completed the crowdfunding, the case will have to be against the people in Switzerland, not the SRF.
Is it Friday? Shit, I forgot to pick up my crumpets.

Except for the "Anyone who has a WIFI router, smartphone, TV, radio etc must pay" bit—actually, after a short transition period, just about every household has to pay, regardless of their capacity to receive broadcasts. Just as every taxpayer has to fund roads, whether they have a car or bike or not. And just as Basel taxpayers support Fasnacht financially, whether they enjoy being woken up at 4 am or not. Sucks, doesn't it?
I mean, it'd be all right if only our income taxes were low by world standards...

SRF Programming last Sunday alone was great.
My son and I watched "Einstein" in the morning. A fascinating look at searching for treasure in the great Pyramids. https://www.srf.ch/sendungen/einstei...-cheops-teil-2
Australian Open Tennis was on then which I watched on a faultless stream on the SRF website.
Sunday evening the movie Everest was on which I had not seen before. Two clicks of the remote and switched the language to English.
Excellent stuff and great value in my opinion.

You would need it in the event of a disaster, natural or otherwise !
It's basically a social thing, everybody pays a little and we can all use it. Insurance works exactly the same way

How many people still own a battery-powered radio (not their phone with it's pathetic battery life)?

What some, including me, are suggesting is exactly what no-billag proposed:
Keep SRF, but have them encrpyt (or whatever they feel like) their offer, and only those who want it pay and can then access it.
I had the pleasure of meeting the head of no billag, Olivier Kessler, in person. He told me that their committee was, after some hesitation, invited to meet some SRF folks. The first serious question SRF apparently asked Kessler was "why don't you like us?".
That's really a big part of the problem: "No-Billag" did and does not "not like SRF". They just don't like the fact that everyone is forced to pay.
It is and remains absurd, that you are obliged to pay for something simply through the fact that you can consume it.
I work in consultancy. Everybody can book me, including SRF. I wonder how they would react if I'd send them a bill for my services based on the fact that they can book me. To be honest, I guess they'd laugh and put my bill into the trash without answering. However, if I don't react to their SERAFE B$, eventually the police would come to knock on my door.
In essence, the money is taken from me by force and against my will.

How can I contact Olivier Kessler? I'm interested in the feasibility of suing the SRF for dereliction of duty as a public broadcaster. It can be proven that they are not impartial and objective. I only know Swissinfo and it is blatantly biased. If enough people got together with the SVP's clout as support, I believe this could be done. What do you think?
