Yes, everything I've played so far is in English. I think it will probably just default to the setup language of the Switch (don't quote me on that though).

Quick question: planning to buy one for my son as Christmas present. I read someone that is region-free, so my idea is to buy it in my next trip to US as it seems cheaper there. Can anyone confirm that my son would be bale to buy games anywhere in the world and use them with the US console? Thanks !

If you buy physical games (i.e. the games you get in the shop on memory cards) then they are region free. You will only be able to download from your local online store though, i believe. That said, I bought Zelda from the Swiss online shop and it runs in English, so no worries on that count.

It's a system without region locks, so yes.
