Re: Prepaid SIM Cards.

What about Salt? I noticed that it offers unlimited data for 1,20CHF per day. While waiting the internet to be installed its a good service.
And all calls with skype/whatsapp/telegram.

Hey everyone,

I have been using my UK contract phone in the Switzerland but it is running out soon. I want to move over to a Swiss number but I dont want to take out a long contract again. I was wondering who is the best for providing prepaid SIM cards (Pay as you go in the UK) over here?

Ideally i'd like at least 3GB of 3G for as cheap as possible, as for calls/texts I dont mind.

Many thanks in advance,

Shane.

I would still suggest to go for a contract of 1 year with 'Salt' which provides a lot of good deals and offers with a contract as compared to prepaid.

Personally, I don't trust IP based providers (Lyca, Lebara etc.) for data usage - they are all tied to one of the full service ones like Swisscom/Salt/Sunrise.

Salt is cheaper as compared to Swisscom (or may be Sunrise too) and service is at par esp. or even better than the other too. It ranks 2nd in Switzerland.

If you have to leave Switzerland due to some reasons in that case you are not obliged to complete the remaining duration of contract (leaving CH is one of the few conditions when a lot of contract obligations are relaxed) but recheck once with your provider.

If not conviced for a contract then again I recommend you a Salt prepaid.

Not with the majority of the providers so better check that contract really well

Why can't I get the 19CHF plan? They ask me for my current number...what number, I'm new )

insert lycamobile.ch sim card, add $$$ to it,
Dial *139*1001# and follow the instructions on the screen

Or Text EU19 to 3535

Re: Prepaid SIM Cards.

I just got this. Very decent promotion, you can cancel anytime.
The Sim card is expensive at 40CHF but I think its worth it with the unlimited calls, sms, and 5GB data plan for 29.90 a month.

Same as before. Why would anything change in a couple months? Lycamobile/Lebara will give you cheapest data per GB if you don't mind the horrible UI. For unlimited data I'd recommend wingo, but at 55 Fr/month it's not cheap.

Re: Prepaid SIM Cards.

avoid salt AT ALL COSTS.... they are cost cutting Customer Service, Billing, and Network Maintenance. Have done nothing innovative except slash prices sometimes and other 90% of the time charge the highest fees of ANY swiss carrier.. Poor Value, and a contract with salt is a death trap.. YMMV..

coop/lycamobile/lebara all have great deals on payg.

lebara has unlimited data for 29/month now seems

Re: Prepaid SIM Cards.

I find Lycamobile's website and customer service to both be terrible. They do have a product that works and is cheap, but not without a headache.
