4G or Wifi at home

Hello people from this Forum...

I moved and the wifi of the building sucks...but is ok, because if free...LOL ....
But, also is not OK, because I work with the computer and basic stuff, like netflix and blabla.

Thing is the Wifi of 40mb/sec costs i.e. Sunrise 45 Francs. (excluding tv and land line, mobile and bla bla) 45 just for the wifi

And just to Add up in my actual mobile acount an unlimited 4g 150mgb/sec will cost me nothing, because I always buy some extra and in the end my bill will be kinda the same...

Since Iphone and Pad can be used as a router (I have been doing that when Wifi here doesnt work) , I was wondering the difference of Wifi and 4G.....

Do I really need an WiFi at home????

Would appreciate some inputs...

Best Wishes

Re: 4G or Wifi at home

Run Ookla speed test (speedtest.net or Apple App) on your device over WiFi vs. 4G and compare the speed and latency for both.
3 mbps download should be sufficient for most of personal usage samples, including HD video streaming.

Also look for transient decreases in speed or dropouts, an average fast speed is good for things that can buffer, but for skype and some remote desktop setups the dropouts can be quite disruptive.

Re: 4G or Wifi at home

Depends if you need the same upload speed or not, if you got the glas fiber connection a speed up to 1GBit (Up-as well as Download) is possible.
I got 200/200 Mbit Connection, first 3 Months were free of charge, i pay 70 sfr per month.
