| | Billag with two homes
If you have two homes (e.g. your home, plus a smaller place near work if you are commuting), do you pay billag twice?
What if you have no TV/computer and only a radio in the car? Do you pay for the car radio just once or twice?

I think your main residence covers a second home (like a holiday home) as long as its not rented out and it not the main residence.
but that's mainly holiday homes so not sure if there's some kind of occupancy / use percentage

You only pay for the one place. The rest are 2nd,3rd etc. homes. You just declare all the addresses you have when you fill in the form and the bill goes to your main address and there is a little bit that mentions the other address/es.

If the holiday home is for your own personal use, it is included in your registered household. You must, however, register separately the holiday home if you rent it out. Per the online portal:
You must register separately for a second home if the following two criteria apply:
- Your second home contains receiving devices,
- you spend at least three nights a week in your second home.
Please use this contact form to help us process your registration as quickly as possible.
Not sure if 2nd home is free or if this is a sneaky way to get you to implicate yourself and have to pay a second billag!
Did anyone fill in that form?

Arrg, stupid old law new law stuff.
You say Billag which means old law:
(You just found it)
For private persons: As long as you at least pay for one household you can have as many devices as you wish. In your garden shed, your boat, car, caravan, hobby room, etc.
PS: With the new law you will have to pay only for the main residence. Thanks Castro (?) for spotting that clause.

Did anyone fill in that form? | | | | | You only have to fill in the form when the information they have regarding needing either TV or Radio license is incorrect.
If you do not sleep more than 3 nights per week in your second home you do not have to tell them about your second home.

Ah yes: https://www.admin.ch/opc/en/classifi...794/index.html
Art. 69a Private households: obligation to pay
1 Each private household must pay the same fee.
2 The definition of a private household is governed by the legislation on the harmonisation of registers.
3 The following persons are jointly and severally liable for payment of the household fee:
a.
adults for whom the household is their main residence, in analogous terms to the definition of the commune of residence in Article 3 letter b of the Register Harmonisation Act of 23 June 20061 (RHA); or
b.
adults who have no main residence in Switzerland and for whom the household is their secondary residence, in analogous terms to the definition of the commune of residence in Article 3 letter c RHA.
4 Each person's liability extends to the amount due from the fee periods at the start of which the person is a member of the household.
5 If all the adults who belonged to a household at the start of a month leave that household within that month, the household is deemed to be dissolved as of the last day of that month.

And are people who only sleep in the day (say 4 afternoons per week due to shift work) in their second residence exempt?!

Based on the new laws ordinance ( https://www.admin.ch/opc/en/classifi...007/index.html) Art. 86 Abs. 2 the old law is still in force | Quote: | | | | Until the change in system, the Swiss collection agency for Radio and Television Reception Fees (the previous fee collection agency) shall collect the reception fee in accordance with the previous law (Art. 58-70 and 101 Federal Act of 24 March 2006 on Radio and Television [RTVA 2006] and the previous Articles 57-67). | | | | | Here the old 2006 law (no English version found) https://www.admin.ch/opc/de/official...n/2007/737.pdf | This user would like to thank aSwissInTheUS for this useful post: | |
