New Swisscom contract - advice

Because Swisscom no longer have the package we're on at the moment we've opted to take out their inOne Home Light package for 50 francs a month for internet, TV and phone. Now we don't particularly want the TV part, but the deal is a bit cheaper than the other packages we were offered and maybe one day we might get around to watching things in French. But I noticed on the info we got that as well as a free TV-Box there are also one month free promotions to Canal+ Pay TV, Teleclub Sport F and Teleclub Francais option gratuite trial. We definitely don't want those so I want to cancel them before the promotions/trials are up and we have to start paying for them. I can't see anything in the paperwork that says how I can cancel these so has anyone got this or a similar Swisscom package and knows how to do it? Is it just a case of contacting Swisscom and letting them know or am I going to have to contact Canal+ and Teleclub Sport and Francais to say we don't want them.

New contract starts from Monday so I assume I'll only have a few days to be able to say we don't want those bits.

With Cablecom you get every once in a while a month free Canal+, it only lasts one month basta - no cancelling needed.

Can't help with contract but Swisscom often let you change the programme language to its original one.., very handy for US dramas etc. I found this option more prevalent on the French channels.

Re: New Swisscom contract - advice

With our Swisscom subscription back in 2013, I received an email seven days before the extra channel trial subscription expired, indicating that it wouldn't automatically change to a paying subscription unless we requested it.
However, it would do no harm to send an email to contact.center (at) swisscom.com stating that you don't wish to subscribe to these channels after the free trial period.

Re: New Swisscom contract - advice

Miostar, thanks, but we're not looking to change services. We're quite happy with Swisscom.

RufusB yes I do remember when we had the old aerial Swisscom TV that a lot could be changed, but we have Sky here anyway so unless they're showing something really different we're not likely to watch it on Swisscom.

Stendec, yes that may be the way to do it. There might be something in the paperwork that comes with the new TV-Box too I suppose. Will check that when it arrives.

I am not trying to get you to change to Cablecom, I was trying to show you a similar situation.

Swisscom wouldn't dare pushing you in a contract in such a way, the newspapers would be covered in protests.

Re: New Swisscom contract - advice

I've had this "free 3 months for all premium channels" with Swisscom a few years ago. Didn't needed any cancellation, channels just became unavailable after that.

Swisscom is still the most "honest" of the "big" telecom companies in Switzerland. Try Salt if you want the opposite

Different from the UK then where if you don't cancel after the trial period it automatically becomes a pay service.

I can't remember the names but I know it was the French ones which essentially play Sky One stuff, all the new releases. There were more than two definitely.

Press " option" on your remote control when the film starts. Then change. Not always available. On SF1 and SF2 as far as I can see. But maybe in French senders also.

Thank you

Somehow, watching the big bang theory, is not the same without Sheldons annoying voice
