Sat TV
 

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the site as well as Zurich, been here for around 4 weeks now.

I have a quick question on the whole Sat TV issue, does anyone know about technisat? Our landlord gave us the whole setup and decoder so it was all in when we moved in.
There are a ton of free channels but all the good stuff is "blocked". How do we go about getting a smartcard? :confused: Does it have to be through technisat or can we shop around? If so what would you recommend?

Any help will be much appreciated.....

Technisat is a receiver maker (amongst other things)
what channels do you get and what are blocked?

Hi,

Well to be honest I need to really take a look at what's there, there are a bunch of channels, mostly German. Prosieben, ARD etc..., then there are the swiss, italian, french, SKY news, BBC news and even arabic channels.

The ones that are blocked for example are : National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Premier 1,2,3 (German I think) MTV etc....

I'm just not sure who to contact to get these channels....

sounds like you're getting signal from Hotbord (13e) and Astra1 (19e).

www.teleclub.ch/Satellit/Default.aspx if you want Premiere (much of the content has English as the second language).

I will take a look at the setup over the weekend and then decide which to go for.

Side Question : I need some info on Internet access too, should I start a new thread? or can I include it in this one?
