Check if your Swiss login has been stolen!

The Swiss Govt. have a check tool here where you can enter your user name and see if your login has been hacked. How comprehensive it is I do not know.

Re: Check if your Swiss login has been stolen!

Hmmm, the admin.ch says no, the one of gbn says yes.

And it lists adobe (surprise, surprise - not).
Does that mean one of my email-addresses has been hacked when adobe was hacked?
Would that explain why I get most spams on that address and not on my addresses at an other domain of mine?

Your email only will be "hacked" if they store the email and password unencrypted or if you use simple passwords they might come up when a password generator has been set loose on the database.

Getting spam on an email might be due to you or anyone you ever send this email to, or any site you ever used it on had a virus/hack/leak or whatever.

Given that we all are smart people and always use good passwords, and never use the same password twice there is no problem when a db gets stolen.

This current tool out of the OP is for 70.000 stolen emailadresses and their passwords, since the tool does not mention if they are encrypted or not, and does not even want to reveal where the theft occurred it is absolutely worthless and does more harm than good.

This one is definitely better.. Especially since you can also input only your passwords to see if those are in the "hacker dictionary"..

** Assuming you trust that you are not actually adding your password to the dictionary via this tool.. But the person behind it is fairly reputable.
