Each time promising it will only take another 2-3 days...nothing else they can say...horrible customer service.

(Or cancel when you have a sort of guaranteed date, and add some days to that.) | | | | | Thank for this but how to keep my existing connection (Swisscom) and subscribe to Salt in order to get it quickly? Do I have to ask a new OTO to Salt (so 5 weeks of delay )?

If yes, then you might have to check with Salt on how it can be done.
If not, then you will have to get a new OTO anyway. And your Swisscom internet connection will exist independently and can be cancelled when you want independently.

Yes, I have an outlet used by Swisscom. But as there are 4 connections on this OTO, may be it's possible to have Swisscom and Salt simultaneously activated on it without a new OTO?

As expected by myself, and I'm sure quite some others.
Salt is known for less than stellar service for reasons.
I was fairly happy with them when they were Orange. Cheaper products than Sunrise or Swisscom, and just (slightly) worse quality. Basically, products became even cheaper since then, but so did their quality.
With Swisscom now for half a year, and not looking back a single day at Salt.

So question here is:
Does anybody already have their working internet??
If yes, can you post a speedtest (while on a LAN cable and maybe wifi) ?

Speeds in Mbps
Lan: 10ms, 950up 707down
Wifi: 9ms, 383up 219down
Phone: 10ms, 412up 258down
Not exactly 10gigabit, but far enough for the price for me..... If only it worked like this consistently. I've already detailed my experiences with the internet in my first post, so I'll refrain from complaining more.

At the same time 707 down seems not sooo fast, but in reality at that price it's still a good offer. As for problems I assume (and hope) these are 'teething' problems...
@SaltFiberUser could you do the test when you experience problems??

@SaltFiberUser could you do the test when you experience problems?? | | | | | Terribly sorry, I reversed the up and down. It should be:
Lan: 10ms, 950down 707up
Wifi: 9ms, 383down 219up
Phone: 10ms, 412down 258up
As for doing the test during my internet issues... impossible. My issue is that I lose connection to the internet (it stays connected to the wifi, but needs to disconnect and reconnect to establish a connection to the internet again at least on my phone)
On my laptop (2 years old) it requires a full restart 1 out of 4 times to fix it, and 3out of 4 times I need to run the windows troubleshooter, because it won't let me disconnect or after disconnecting it can't find any wifi signal anymore.
My laptop might have it's own issues, but my phone, Chromecast, Google home mini and game console all have issues with keeping a consistent internet connection.
Like when I tried to download WoW (40gb) it would crash about every 3gb.... So yeh... That made me almost want to pull my hair out. Luckily it works better with a lan connection. So now to fix my gaming needs ill look into buying a cable long enough. But for streaming a movie to my tv....hit or miss 50/50
It must be teething issues, but for now they are really bad. I'm hoping it gets better and when it does Salt fiber will be great, but until then I'd recommend everyone to wait with ordering it.

On notebooks usually there is only a 1GB connector.
Newer wlan cards can support above gigabit speeds, but those will be still below 10Gbps.
Only chance to test it is to have a 10GBASE-T card in your computer with PCIe (or a thunderbolt to 10G adapter).
Maybe we should start a separate thread to collect 10G products, because right there are not so much on the market for SOHO (or at least not cost many k CHF).

| | | | | So these are wifi issues rather than WAN / internet link. In this case you can try to do such workaround:
- If possible disable WIFI on salt router
- Use a external access point or a normal router connected into salt box to do wifi part | Quote: | | | | | On notebooks usually there is only a 1GB connector.

Also, remember that wifi is shared medium, meaning that total speed is shared between devices.
