The Apple Sore in Bahnhofstrasse Zurich

A disaster!

"Another Apple employee scurries past, loud electronic music blaring from the speakers. It's Wednesday afternoon - High Noon in the Zurich Apple Store. Staff in blue shirts try to tame the hordes of visitors. One smiles when asked how best to make an appointment with an Apple technician on customer service, the so-called Genius Bar."

And to think that people do these courses there with all that noise . The teacher sitting there with his headphone/mic attached is really laughable.

I went there today because I wanted to look at the iPod Touch. Do you think they had one on display. Forget it. I asked the friendly Apple person if they had an iPod. Unfortunately I pronounced the " i " in German. So they had no idea what I was talking about. They first said ear pod. Eventually they understood. So dont ask for an eeee Pod. Its ai Pod if you want to be understood.

HaHa. Not intended. But very applicable

The moral of the story. Don't speak German with Apple employees.

That’s what they call it in Romande.

Oh, and you book your Genius online. Very modern these Apple people.

Why not buy it second hand? You can get them for 40 CHF on Ricardo.

What do they speak then ?

One could quite safely assume that the majority of clients in the Zurich store probably speak German or Swiss German and that many of the employees are well versed in these languages.

The alternative would be an exercise in pure mental masturbation.

I think you are on your own there. Never heard any Swiss calling it anything else.

Re: The Apple Sore in Bahnhofstrasse Zurich

The 6th generation iPod touch was released in 2015.
Now that MacMini and MacBookAir have been updated, it's actually one of the oldest devices in their line-up. Only the MacPro is older (2013). Also, the iPad Mini is of similar age.

Given that, I'm not surprised they have no shelf-space for it.

What do you want it for?

I already have the Retro iPod. Bought it for 120CHF 4 years ago. Its like new! And it suits me. I dont have to worry too much whether it gets stolen. Nobody has interest in old tech!

I wouldn't take your word for it that it's in "like new" condition without a photo. Note if it looks anything like another one I'll be in to Scotland Yard to report it.
