| | IPTV issues
Anybody here using an IPTV service to access UK TV?? been using them for a while but for the last 2 to 3 weeks I haven't able to watch any channels, can download the channel list and EPG just can't view anything.
Wondering if some of the internet providers are blocking IPTV, I'm on Init7 fibre I also tried through my phone on Salt same issue. I know both of these are IPTV providers in themselves.
I've tried through a couple of VPN's but that hasn't helped, provider says it's not his end as he can log into my account from the UK.
Just wondering if anybody else uses an IPTV service and is having issues.

I'd go back to your IPTV provider. Their servers have probably been seized or something

Reviving the thread..
My wife wants to watch a bunch of the trashy UK lifestyle channels.. So looking at buying a subscription to one of the IPTV providers (dodgy) and a MAG 322 set top box (legit) ..
Anybody do it? Preferred IPTV service?

It has netflix and youtube and a bunch of no-name crappy other apps installed. There's an icon for installing more apps but those are also crappy no-name game things. That's as far as I've investigated |

If not, then i recomend a Formuler Box, and not a MAG.
Since it is an Android box, and has a dedicated IPTV app, best in use. https://www.formuler.tv/z7plus |

You pay between 50-100 per year for 4000-6000 channels. Usually directly on their website or to the bloke in the pub if you go that route (reseller)
I didn't find options like US only or UK only, only option I've actually seen is porn or no porn. You get thousands of channels or nothing.
LOADS of the sites are actually just resellers of a few bigger providers. These seem to be cheaper, slightly. Often they have a similar URL or sub-domain, usually the FAQ and instructions etc are copied straight from the main seller. (hint - if they offer a reseller option, they are not a reseller)
Usually the resellers don't offer a free trial but the main one does.
Once you pay you get some details by email like m3u link, server names etc. Access seems to be based on your MAC address, so only one devices generally supported. You enter these details into whatever device you have provided the MAC address for, set-op-box, iPhone, TV, laptop etc etc. Depends on what device to what software or whatever, a laptop/PC would just need VLC installed.
I'm sure somebody more knowledgable can correct my mistakes.
*** I haven't committed to a specific provider yet - but narrowed it down a lot - will decide in next couple of days ***

You pretty much nailed it. I have been using IPTV for about two years now (MAG device) and gone through a few re-sellers. They tend to go out of business/be closed down, so buy a 6 months subscription max.
The service providers vary. Some are not very good i.e. latency problems, and some channels just come up black or with no sound. Try for a month before committing.
I prefer the MAG interface to the traditional cable boxes/subscriptions, and can live with a few problem channels (out of 1000's, including all the movie and sport channels around the world).
I do also have a traditional box from a cable provider with a subscription, but hardly if ever watch it (just pay for it each month) |

For ease of use, rock solid reliability, cross platform (PC, Android, iOS, Samsung Smart TV, Amazon FireTV etc..) and the fact that its legit.. Zattoo cannot be beaten. I've given up on fly-by-night IPTV providers which go out of business leaving you with a paperweight (albeit re-programmable if you have the time/skills).
Zattoo cons are limited channel selection and it doesn't work outside Switzerland.

It's been a very long time since I downloaded MP3s and torrents etc, I do prefer to ease of use over cheap/free any day.
The pro I see with these dodgy IPTV providers is that there are lots of them. One gets busted and you just just move to another. At least this is how I understand it (before I've actually tried it). You just enter the new provider details in the setup screen.
My box arrived today so I'll try a free trial of one of them tonight.

Set mine up tonight.. Took me approx 10 minutes including plugging in the hardware, register, pay, play..
I bought the dedicated box, MAG 322.. The EPG is not great.. And I guess that for recording / pause etc I'll need to plug in some memory.. But all good so far, quality, stability, choice, price.

Infomir (the producers of the MAG boxes) updated their firmware to block certain IPTV suppliers a few weeks ago.
You can downgrade the Firmware (google it) and the service should resume.
Other suppliers may just disappear (as quickly as they pop up) and with no warning in cut of service. So far this has happened twice before for me so had to cut the loss and open a new account with a different supplier...
