Sunrise Internet unlimited (1gbps) for 35 chf for ever

Yallo has a promotion again, https://www.yallo.ch/en/internet you get 1gbps symmetric from Sunrise for 35 chf / month for ever
Minimum contract duration: 12 months

Offer seems to be valid until end of the day tomorrow (Tuesday that is)

Seems like pretty awesome offer if you don't need a bundle with TV.

At my place it's even worse, I do have fiber, but my crappy provider does NOT allow other providers onto it... Result is that I have to use their service...

And now swisscom builds their Fiber to the Building network in the are which might be better... but that isn't there yet (better in terms of price / offers not speed)

How?

I remember there was once a deal like that on qoqa.ch for one day.. did you get it then?
Is it also for unlimited duration or for example valid for a year?

yes, it was the qoqa offer. it's for 5 or 10 years, not sure, but I consider that as forever.

You are falling for the trick.

Not the 35,- is forever, but the 60% discount is forever. This does not prohibit them from raising the price.

(40% of 90,- actually is 36,- but hey, who learns math these days....)

Nope, in their 'legal' section there is nothing about discount percentage...:

Quote:
Sunrise Internet Unlimited for only CHF 35.-/month
Valid with new subscriptions of Sunrise Internet Unlimited (CHF 35.–/month; regular price CHF 90.-/month). Minimum contract duration of 12 months. The discount ends if the subscription is switched to an Internet subscription with a lower basic fee. Landline network connection and Sunrise phone start are included. Offer valid from 28/01/2019 to 31/01/2019

Obviously it would make sense to actually read the contract before singing it to have full clarity.

ps. Also it seems their count down timer is crap as legal note says offer is valid until end of the month.

Sigh..

The contract mentions the price valid when signing the contract, nowhere it says that the 35,- will last forever. What they however do say very clearly is this:

Quote:
✓ Discount is valid forever.
And this:

Quote:
It's a special deal with a discount valid forever (lifetime discount)
And this:
Quote:
How long will I benefit from this special price?
The discount is applied to your account forever (as long as you wish).
Very clear and leaves no doubt.

Hmm not quite. given than legal note does mention final price and does not mention amount of discount...
I'd honestly would like to see the contract itself as wording there can be more detailed.

If it's sunrise you run the risk of them never connecting it up at all.

Doesn't look like an exceptionally good deal, Salt offers their fibre+tv+phone bundle for 40.- without pushing you to decide on a whim.

I agree that they guarantee the discount yet I wouldn't say that.

It's not clear if the discount is a percentage or an absolute number because, as you already mentioned, the numbers as advertised don't add up. While the latter would be quite risky as the price could even become negative if Sunrise lowers their price far enough, the fact that the advertised numbers don't add up would want me to see the legalese first. If I was interested in the first place.

At salt it's 50 / month if you do not have their mobile phone yet.

Here it's 35 - no strings / combo deal.

If I'd have to choose between those two I'd go do yallo deal tbh (in reality, today you will not use more than 1gbps i real conditions - probably not even more than 100 mbps) - I don't watch TV and don't care about a landline phone... and in a year it's 180 chf cheaper

I also don't want to be hurried into a decision -reliability is more important that just being the cheapest. But I can't decide to between a Quickline smart deal and a Salt deal. It is a new fibre connection, so the Salt deal looks the best to me.

As an existing sunrise subscriber paying twice as much for more or less the same, this kind of thing only makes me less loyal as a customer

Re: Sunrise Internet unlimited (1gbps) for 35 chf for ever

Many years ago, in dial-up internet days, a phone supplier offered unlimited internet if you had a fixed phone contract with them (hardly anyone had a mobile then), so I signed up. After a while I received a letter from the company telling me that my phone was going to be cut off in 5 days. I was a bit surprised, as I had always paid my bills, so I rang up to ask why. They told me it was because I "used the internet too much". So I had to find another operator rapidly before I got cut off!

Can't remember the name of the supplier, but you had to put 6 digits or so before every number you called.

I agree, I didn't notice the string. Suckers!
