esim

I need some PHONE provider help.

I have an iPhone that accepts esim.

I currently have a USA phone number (and plan)
I want to add an eSim to my phone for emergency use while traveling throughout Europe and CH.

Can someone direct me to a service provider that does that.
Again - I'll only use the eSim service during an emergency so I don't want to buy a monthly plan. I'd prefer a Plan where I pay for a set number of minutes/data .

Thanks

Re: esim

For CH, Salt offer a prepay esim...

You can get one in any shop. I am sure there are better value offers in Germany though, especially if it is one you are looking to use whilst roaming around the EU.

Re: esim

Can you switch your primary plan to eSIM? I've switched my iPhone Xr's primary SIM to eSIM (Swisscom). This cost nothing (it's on my employer's business account, but AFAIK it really costs nothing).

This way, I can put the physical SIM of our on-call Android phone in it and only have one big-ass physical phone with me (and more importantly, not be forced to use Android...).

AFAIK, there's much more choice in physical pre-paid SIMs in most European countries.
You will have to buy several, though, if you want to stay "local" in different countries.

There are special, pan-European eSIM providers (or really world-wide) listed on this page:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209096

(which is incidentally also what even DuckDuckGo listed as the first result to my query about "iphone eSIM provider"....)
