Salt Fibre - questions for those with it

I am looking to get Salt Fibre in the future but don't find some information on the website and from their call centre people....so I thought I'd ask EF.

Here we go...
  • Does the route have parental controls for availability of access? I have Swisscom now and can restrict the Ankle Biter on the time of day and duration that the Internet works....
  • Can you use the Salt TV and Video Apps abroad? Specifically without a VPN
  • Does the second RJ11 connection on the back actually allow a second phone line? Orange, sorry, Salt people say only one phone line is available but I see the device has two connectors (plus DECT of course)

I see there are a couple of mega threads about Salt Fibre but I think this would be lost in those.

Assuming one phone line is the maximum, I am also looking for flatrate VoIP that can call Swiss fix/mobile networks plus other locations for free. I'd want to put my own CLI on and take a free local DID that inbound calls are forwarded to (or am open to other ideas)

Cheers

I'll quickly answer your points in order:
  • The router does have parental controls, including allowed access time on each day. If you really want to up your control game (and avoid hackers piggy-backing on your wifi) you can set up a whitelist of devices using MAC addresses ...
  • Salt TV & Salt Video are geoblocked when outside Switzerland ... I tried ...
  • No idea if the connector allows a second phone line ...

Not sure what deal you're looking at from Salt now, but I don't pay anything extra to call any number of Swiss phones (landlines or mobiles). It's included in the monthly fee - I only pay extra for international calls, and I imagine there are other 'business' numbers which have their own fees ...

Re: Salt Fibre - questions for those with it

Thanks for the info, it's good to see I can put access restrictions on the Internet access. And I can make the TV work from abroad with 10Gb in/out

I need to look into VoIP options for my second line, it seems. That's OK

Re: Salt Fibre - questions for those with it

-Parental control by MAC address, you can set by 30 min period
-Salt TV is geoblocked because of Apple's account
-For now, only one MSISDN, but should be able to have more than one in a near future
