internet at home with 4G modem

Hi,
time ago I found an internet provider that shipped you a 4G modem with a flat internet abonament to use at home. No phone, no TV, just internet.

I can't find it anymore..
Is anybody able to help me?

I remember it was not one of the big names (sunrise, swissom, cablecom, ...) but something less known and less expensive. I'm considering moving away from them and I am looking for a viable alternative for 30-50CHF/ month.

Thanks!
AC

Re: internet at home with 4G modem

Not Yallo, but the offer was pretty much as the Yallo one.
Unfortunately I heard terrible things on Yallo, like sudden drops in performances, getting flagged as heavy users, .. I am not sure I want to go that way.

I am looking for a reliable flat rate, min 30pbs, at a decent price. For browsing and streaming

Why would you choose 4G as opposed to cable or even better fibre? Is there a specific reason for that?

OP did write that an alternative to the big cable/telephone companies was desired. However, having some unit sit in my living space that transmits and receives relatively high volume of data all day from a nearby tower, kind of gives me the creeps.

Probably just as well you don't know how much of this stuff is swirling around you all day everyday then.

Re: internet at home with 4G modem

I've got a 5G router for free for a year for Sunrise as a part of a consumer acceptance program. It's great - tiny thing, that you could take on holiday with you or carry around in your pocket.

Only thing is... on the second day of having it, it asked if I wanted to update the software. I said yes, and since then it's only offered 4G. I must get around to telling the engineer...

Hi, how did you get in that consumer acceptance program?

Re: internet at home with 4G modem

I have the Salt 4G modem since 2 years ago.

It works, 10MBPs down/upload. Sometimes upload is 20MBps. But, I'm in a 3rd floor in town center where the 4G signal is strong. I watch movies on my 13in laptop, so I hardly watch video above 720p, then zero buffering time. Not sure what happens if you have a large TV and try to watch 4k video.

To make sure it works, I'd ask to someone with a Salt chip to check how strong the signal is in your home.
