How are streaming speeds? Are they still showing in UHD and with Atmos sound or has it been throttled back to HD like in some countries?

| | Re: Disney+ | Quote: | | | | | Have Disney+ app on Android and Samsung TV, magically appeared yesterday.
Discovered you could create profiles and set a profile to 'Kids' if needed, but not the first profile.
For each profile, you can set the language. Looks like it works similar to netflix where it stores your viewings and gives you recommendations...
At first did not like the interface, compared to Netflix, but lets see, too early to give a true impression, only watched a couple of things yesterday. | | | | | Which Samsung TV do you have? I have a 2015 model but can't seem to find the app

I am surprised they haven't thought of that first...all Samsung models should run an update. Or maybe they think I'll buy a new Samsung TV just to get the new Apps...lolol yeah sure.

I quite fancied getting Disney+ for the kids but I have a 5 year old Panasonic TV, no joy there.. I have IPTV using a Formuler Z8 Android box, Disney+ is not in the play store (on there at least), no joy there.. Swisscom box, no joy there either..
Everything else is Apple in our house but we don't watch movies on phones, tablets or computers..
How are you watching?

How are you watching? | | | | | Apple TV 4K 32GB
(We have everything Apple also, and even tho our TV is less than a year old and handles everything nicely an Apple TV is simply a very nice thing to have.)

It ended up being simply a Netflix / Youtube player and both of these are already on my old Panasonic TV.
Does apple have other decent content now that they're into TV? Crippled CH content only?
Basically we're not huge movie fans, we already have Netflix but content is largely CH limited.. Getting the Disney stuff would be quite good but it has to be (my) wife and kids simple, no VPNs etc.
Does Disney+ replace Netflix ?

| | Re: Disney+ | Quote: | | | | | Does Disney+ replace Netflix ? | | | | | No. You get Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic content but I would view it as an add-on. More varied content on Netflix and Prime, IMO. Apart from Nat Geo is mostly films. There are the Star Wars and Marvel spin- off series' and some Disney spin- offs... grumble grumble Lion Guard grumble grumble. The Mandalorian is bloody good though.

| | | | | Our Apple TV is 3d Gen so we cant watch via that, but thankfully the kid has a PS4 so that does the job.

| | | | | Unless you are into family and kids movies you'll burn through their movie assortiment in no-time. The kid loves it, I myself am very disappointed at their movie selection.

The majority of the movies wish they were B movies, and MANY of them are not even available in original language with English subtitles. They are often in French and Italian only, with subtitles in....you guessed...French and Italian. I'll cancel my subscription as soon as my wife is done watching whatever series she's hooked on.

It's excellent for TV box sets, especially the less mainstream stuff. I like the fact that you can easily buy new releases.

It's wife and kids who'll watch it, they love all that guff.. I might watch an occasional NatGeo.
I've put an old tent up in the garden for the kids. they'll love watching in there for a few hours.
