PC Internet Browser scrolling

If one scrolls down to the bottom of a long browser page and wants to get back to the top of the page one has to scroll back. Why cant they have like a "button" at the top of the page that one can just click on and it takes one straight back to the top without having to scroll?

I have not activated or deactivated anything and am using Chrome at the moment. The Home button takes me to the top of the page except when in a text field, in this case it takes me to the beginning of the line.
By default it is usually active.

With me it only goes back to my Chrome Apps start side.

Does yours go back to the top on every web page?

LOL, that is to be done as code on a website, totally irrelevant for your "problem"

Just check your settings for keyboard functions/shortcuts.
(And check if you indeed are pressing the proper button on your keyboard)

If you are on OSX it is "fn" in combination with the left and right arrow to jump up and down.

Get a new PC. Yours is obviously broken beyond repair. Although... and I may just be grasping at straws here... perhaps the problem lies between keyboard and chair. So, do you have the boxes your PC came in?

Ah thanks it works on PC. But why not have it in the browser itself?

I doubt you're pressing the right key. You need the Home key. The one marked "Home".

In any case, you don't need to scroll all the way from the bottom of a page back to the top. You can simply click on the scroll bar at the right of the screen and drag it to the top. It's a one-second operation. Hardly taxing, or deserving of a multi-post thread on EF.

Theres an End key on my keyboard, I pressed it and this thread didn't end, is there any other way to make it go away?

Num Lock is good too, it leaves me totally unable to feel any more pain from this thread.

On another note, when I press Tab, I don't get any diet soft drink any more! Why isn't there a Coke Zero key to replace it?

It should work, but its the alternate tab that you'll need, I think it's the option tab for Mac OS.

Whilst staring at my keyboard I realised there is a second "home" key above my number pad, it's a little pictogram, This brings up the homepage of your chosen browser. The actual home key should be above your arrow keys near the delete/insert keys.

My websites do.
Do what you do best and complain to the webmaster of the site. :msnsarcastic:

Ha! Didn't know that works.
I have only one home button on my keyboard though .... should I start a thread about that?

I have a dedicated Home key, and another one printed on my 7 key in the number pad, which works when I turn Num Lock off. They do the same thing. I rarely, if ever, turn NumLock off (as I said, it gives me a warm, cosy, detached sort of a feeling), so you can have my 7/Home key, if you like. Well, just the Home part of it, I need my 7s.

Email, or post to your home address?

Post to home address. Will you saw the key in two or do I return the 7-half after fitting it?

I have a numeric block including the home-key on top. Might explain I have only one.

This is a good solution. But one has to set it up for every web page. That's unacceptable!!! And anyhow it should be part of every browser. What are these IT people paid for.Sleeping!

Im not looking for a keyboard solution . Simply a mouse point and click.
