Olympics - which channel?

Hi there

Does anyone know which channel the olympics will be broadcast on? And even better, if a particular channel will broadcast in English?

Cheers

Eurosport should broadcast in English.

I personally won't be watching - as I don't agree with neither the IOC who gave the games to one of the most inhuman countries on the planet nor with the athletes who go to China although all of them know about the country's track record in terms of human rights and democracy.

Re: Olympics - which channel?

I won't be watching. On the whole I find the Olympics to be dreadfully boring.

"What do you do?"

- "I throw a pointed stick."
- "I run round an oval once."
- "I run round an oval twice."
- "I run down the straight bit of an oval. During the entire competition, even if I win, I will spend less than one minute actually competing."

usw.

BBC ONE and BBC TWO will bring you 300 hours of extensive coverage from the Games.

And I suppose you refuse to watch any sporting event broadcast from the U.S.? They have an incredibly peachy record of human rights, so I've been informed.

Re: Olympics - which channel?

If you don't have cable, then SF will be showing the Olympics (but in German)

If you have basic cable, then the following are also showing it: TSR, TSI, Eurosport (in English also), ORF, ARD & ZDF, France 2.

If you have Cablecom Digital or Bluwin TV, then the BBC are showing it in English along with 10s of other countries national stations (not english, of course) available via Digital.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_Summer_Olympics has a list of the broadcasters showing it.

For the Baselers - do you know if it will be on in any bars? Some of us don't have a TV and I'm intrigued to catch the opening ceremony.... which is ... ?

Re: Olympics - which channel?

Eurosport will have a comprehensive broadcast of the entire event. One can access the english audio stream via a tele which has a dual-cast functionality ,usually marked I/II on the remote.

Which was the case with Cablecom analog but with Bluewin TV it's only in German Can anyone confirm if Cablecom digital (with the set top box) limits Eurosport to a single language..?
