Salt.TV aka Zattoo with OverPlay (from abroad)
 

I see OverPlay gives SmartDNS for Zattoo so that you appear in Switzerland and of course Salt.TV is fundamentally Zattoo.

So does anyone know if SmartDNS works for Salt.TV?

I think from signing up and testing that it works. I will test it this weekend - and it is now StrongerDNS, apparently.

If you have home internet in CH you can just set up a home VPN server and enjoy Zattoo etc out of the country for free.


I use it to watch UK shows on youtube in the UK which are blocked there. Also a good idea for airport wifi etc.

Ah but I have Salt with IPv6 and carrier grade NAT. I refuse to pay 10 extra a month.

Additionally, I want to do this on an Apple TV so VPN is out :(

OK, some hacking done and I've managed to run the App on my iPad while tunneling all traffic through my Austrian connection using the StrongDNS and it appears to work. Now I just have to go there in person and try the Apple TV :)
