| | internet hotspot with sim card
I am moving to Switzerland in March and I will need a solution to have internet for the first month.
I have seen there are hotpots that I could use.
Do you have any suggestions?
Preferably a solution that doesn't tie me into a contract and that I can cancel after 1-2 months.

If you have a compatible phone that isn't SIM locked, just get a prepaid SIM from the cheapest provider and use that.
A hotspot isn't going to offer you anything more and is generally less flexible, unless you need to share your connection and aren't always available.

I was thinking about that as well, I saw the cheapest seems to be lycamobile. their biggest plan is capped at 50GB of high speed internet though.
I'll have to spend 10 days in quarantine... I expect a lot of netflix time
I am wondering if that'll be enough!

Unfortunately the hotspots with unlimited data come in 1 year min contract. but there are some 5G ones. Maybe this is enough for you. I'm working from home over a 4G hotspot, at it's enough.

The main problem is data, with work from home and videostreaming.

Please check https://digitalrepublic.ch/en/
That is basically what you need, and the first month is free, and i mean free, you order a sim card and have to give credit card information after one month of trial.
I'm trying the 10MB flat formula at the moment, works without problems. Free | This user would like to thank Marxb for this useful post: | |

But I think you have to send them a photo of your work permit so probably no good if you are just coming over (unless someone can get one for you).

„To enable personal hotspot on this account, contact carrier“
Are you connected to the car stereo by Bluetooth??

You need a LTE-Router of course, you can find reasonable devices under 100CHF, e.g. https://www.digitec.ch/en/s1/product...&tagIds=7&so=5 https://fiber.salt.ch/en/mobile/plan/prepay |

Or just use your phone as a hotspot, of course. Plenty of cheaper options than 2CHF per day, or at least there were.
Just as an aside,we've been getting Salt unlimited for 5CHF these last 4 months because they keep on messing up and they put us on this tariff when we have to call them. Really flaky IT system but the customer service and the coverage has actually been good.

Maybe you'll be lucky and get in view any of the UPC Wi-Free hotspots.
