| | Anyone using TalkTalk mobile?
I'm about to change my phone contract, currently looking at a TalkTalk option, unlimited calls, data, messages virtually everywhere in the world for chf50 per month. I just wonder what other people's experience of them is? There's another thread talking about coverage, so I'm happy enough to move to the Sunrise network they run on.
Salt, who I'm currently with, have offered to come down to as low as chf55 for their EuropeXXL package which is effectively equivalent - normal price for that is 90 per month, I'm currently paying 70 for the same deal, but my 24months subscription is finished so I'm free to leave them.
One last thing, I see that there's a ' friends' offer for recommendations. chf50 each for the referrer and the new user just by entering someone's existing TalkTalk number when registering. Would pay for my SIM card change, if anyone fancies getting 50 francs worth of credit?

What about their roaming charges. i.e. The cost to use the phone when outside of Switzerland? Where we live we are so close to the French border it is very easy to end up on a French Network without even crossing the frontier.
I also got zinged when in Canada and thinking that if my mobile provider sent me a text offering roaming for a fixed price, they would honour their offer, without resorting to the ‘fine print’.

Although the fine print takes some reading I'm pretty confident of this,
I'm less than a kilometre from France and need to be contactable/connected at all times, so it's uppermost on my list of requirements, as is the unlimited data there. | Quote: | | | | | I also got zinged when in Canada and thinking that if my mobile provider sent me a text offering roaming for a fixed price, they would honour their offer, without resorting to the ‘fine print’. | | | | | Yes, you mentioned that in the other thread - that was with a Sunrise contract, though, wasn't it?
In any case, all mobile operators will take advantage of you if they can - I recently accrued a chf30 penalty with Salt for an outstanding amount of 3 or 4 francs which had run over from a premium-rate call a couple of months previously. My logic was that as I was paying the full subscription amount by standing order each month, the arrears would just carry over to the next bill as it they were applied in the previous month, but no. I don't expect anything better from anyone else, TBH, although it would be a bonus.

It is a good price if it includes calls to Switzerland and other roaming.

I have been using Talk (2times) for a bit more than a year.
I have been very happy.
At the beginning I had to contact them and the person who help me was very good and speaking English.
I have a 20CHF plan with 1Gb of data also usable in Europe (or 2 if you get lock for 12 months).
From Switzerland I can call mobiles and landlines (unlimited) in Europe |

One thing that is sometimes not so clear is that sometimes you get calls *to* another country but not *within* that country or vice-versa. Or at least, so it seems.

Looks good, the 50.00 offer.
Yet I wonder - why would anyone need a data booster (and so many choices of that) if data is unlimited in CH and abroad?
guess you'll need to read the small print with a magnifying glass.

2 thinks to know.
1/Talktalk has an VOIP app so when you are traveling you can use it and call like if you were in Switzerland, and avoid extra cost.
2/depending of the plan you have you may have to set an automatic payement if you want to avoid an extra fee ~3CHF.
I hope it's helping.

I pay 50.00 and have unlimited data in Switzerland and abroad (which turns out to be 10GB and abroad is also a limited place - as I said, read the small print).
Then I pay (another? or instead of 50.00?) 60.00 to have ...... the same 10GB? Or additional 10GB?
I can't help myself but people who's offer take more than 10 minutes to figure out don't do business with me.

I understand, for me the 20chf is great because I can call EU and when I am in EU I use my French sim card.

Well now I won't find out if it's as 'unlimited' as it seems, as Salt have got back to me and will extend my current contract for the same price. Actually it's a whole centime per month lower!
Definitely worth asking an existing operator to price match, now gonna be saving chf20 per month over my current deal, with no unknown factors to throw into the mix.
