I'm moving from overseas to a furnished apartment and need to quarantine for 10 days.

I have to register for quarantine online. Need internet for that.

I have to order food online. Need internet for that.

Last time I got DSL it took a week to set up and I had to go to the store to pick up the modem. That doesn't work for quarantine.

Is there a prepaid data SIM I could pick up at the airport that would provide working internet immediately? Or have mailed to me quickly? Or even mailed to me overseas before I go? Preferably with a daily unlimited data rate and preferably that I could use in my laptop, not just in a phone. I do have a mobile data modem for the laptop.

I guess I care about price too, but it's less of an issue since it's only for 10 days and it's essential: without internet, I won't have any food to eat.

You can probably find a suitable SIM deal with most providers - you can then hotspot your laptop onto your phone.

You can order sim card form http://wingo.ch/ and have it sent on your furnished apartment address. Of course, agree with landlord that you can do that and to get the address information, so that they receive it and leave it on the table for you.

Wingo doesn't send sims outside of the country, and they told me they need several days from ordering to delivering, so it would be too late to order them once you come.

So, ask your host if they'd be willing to help you out with the receiving.

Alternatively, transfer money and ask host to pick some in the shop, like aldi, lidl or whatever?

Unless you'll be sheltering underground or on the wrong side of the mountain, you'll be fine with any mobile internet. All providers have something for that case,

This SIM can be bought in any kiosk. It is a shitty option overall, but an OK for a prepaid for a week or two. Drop it as soon as you will be able to get any abo.

If you have a mobile phone, check with your current provider to see if they have a data roaming option for Switzerland.

Same advice as others, or write a nice note to your neighbours and explain your situation and ask them if they mind sharing their wifi.
