Services are bundled, usually if you choose a supplier it's the same cables, it's the billing and deal varies so it can pay to shop around as often the biggest difference between operators tends to be the price (maybe Salt is the exception, people on here complain about service issues when something goes wrong) with special offers from time to time, especially if you want TV and a mobile phone contract as a bundle. Most have English websites if it helps.
Companies, like Swisscom, Sunrise etc, can tell you if fibre it's available or not at an address, if you have one yet (
https://www.sunrise.ch/en/residentia...e/we-home.html). Once you do get one, connection is usually a few days, moving within Switzerland it was always possible to get it working the day I moved in etc but this might be harder if you fly in.
I haven't done it but in Switzerland it seems you can use the supplied router to put VPN on it, search for the provider, eg Swisscom etc and VPN, perhaps someone else knows. Instead I use VPN on a device and cast and with this Japanese TV is fine, even NHK Plus... if you have your subscription, or a friend can spare theirs.
